What I am Missing Most....

I deactivated my personal FB page a few years ago. One can't see unwanted anything if one isn't on FB, and right now I can't imagine having to see posts of my friends/family/acquaintances breaking SIP orders or reposting conspiracy theories. As for the CDC, however, I'd love to read what they, a supposed-to-be-nonpartisan, medical organization based on rigorous science has to say. It seems like they are using FB to reach people because people aren't listening. We can't move on when we're still going through.
I guess it is like what was posted two weeks ago- we are not in this together. Our state is opening and doing well. It depends upon where you are. As to seeing unwanted things, it is NOT just on Facebook. That is the point. It is everywhere. After several months, it is over the top, and frankly annoying. JMO.

Everyone is letting their nasty side out, and minding in everyone's business! I was talking (more like almost screaming) to my neighbor that I saw when I went walking. We were about 25ft away possibly more. I was asking her about her mom which is really sick with cancer. This guy is driving stops insults us and tells us to wear masks. I couldn't even believe it! First of all, he isn't wearing one to address to us, so what the heck! We were more than 25ft away and I was doing my best not to go hug my neighbor who is watching her mom died! So, yeah... I miss having people mind their own beeswax!
Yes. For me, (trying to be respectful here:beat) ... the guy in the car. I respect those who feel the need to wear a mask. I won't fuss at them. The reverse should be true. I have family in the medical profession- and after discussion, my opinion is that surgical masks or cotton masks are dubious.:backing But that isn't my point. If if makes you more comfortable, please do it! But don't hassle others. None of us need more stress, right?!

Two things. The first one is going to the fabric store to touch all the fabrics, look at books and browse through all the lovely accessories!

The second one is visiting Colonial Williamsburg. I'm dying to get back there. I can't wait until it's open again!

I miss getting in my car for those just on a whim stores just as @Cherylndesigns mentioned. Just to browse around and when you finally get to the checkout you see something in a person's cart that you hadn't seen and like and there's a checkout conversation about nothing really, but just connection. Hair salons open tomorrow but now have gone through a lot of the god awful growing out stage I'm not sure I want to go short again, only to have all these closures repeat later this year. :banghead

I also miss the fact that my dh went out to lunch or dinner quite a bit and now he's always home and I mostly have to get him fed. He still has post cancer issues and specific tastes... Even carry out takes planning.

I totally get it about your hair too, Maureen! I've gone through a god awful growing out of my nails, which I've had acrylics/then gels on for years and years! It's been the biggest trauma and I don't think I'm going to get them put back on after what I've been through!! Who ever thought this would happen??? I'm through the hardest part and they don't look great, but they're looking better week by week. I've got "before and so far" pictures and it's pretty scary what my nails looked like.

I miss not having a specific news item(in this case CV) shoved in my face EVERYWHERE- especially online. Facebook has obsessed with it. I am tired of clicking off of update offers. These are people's lives, not numbers- whether affected or ended- it is nefarious to me to see that so anonymously and coldly shoved in the face unsolicited. Tell me how that makes matters better? It is a proven scientific fact that negativity has a drastic impact upon health. So the CDC's response is to shove a problem into our faces countless times a day? Why not allow the public to seek out the info if desired? Does anyone else think that is just plain nuts? It's like they don't want us to move on...
I've unfollowed and even blocked so many people on FB - even some of my cousins. I don't need their negativity in my life right now. I need to be on FB for the few CT's I'm on, or I'd de-activate my account. It's just so upsetting to see all the negativity and my stomach can't take it. I hope I don't have to see some of my family very soon, because some of us are very much at odds right now. I don't care what anybody's opinions are - however, everybody must respect EVERYBODY'S opinions, as well. Some of them are incapable of that.

I miss looking forward to our usual summer activities: the beach, live outdoor concerts, strawberry picking, Fourth of July fireworks shows, the school fun fair, Vacation Bible School, camp, etc.

Strawberry picking season has started here and people are going. The various places all have different rules, most of which I can live with, so we went earlier this week. I am thinking of going again to another farm since we made jam with our berries. I want some shortcake!

OMG, my daughter's unibrow is driving me INSANE!!!!!
These things are really great, you just have to be really careful and not get carried away with it like I did. It is basically a razor blade in a stick lol They are like $5 on Amazon. My eyebrow is finally starting to grow back some :giggle

OMGosh yes! I will say that I'm a bit crazy with these too- it's SO satisfying to get rid of those little fine hairs... ;) ;)

I agree, I always wear my mask inside building but I was walking around my neighborhood and had the luck to see my neighbor that I was afraid to text in case she was sleeping because I know her mom was in her last days. We were literally so far, we were screaming at each other.

@Cherylndesigns ; I can totally relate. For the past two+ years DIL used Facebook to "school" me passive aggressively. It got so bad that I now know that it was anxiety I was experiencing because a feeling of dread would come over me if I clicked to open FB. I still don't follow much of anyone, and even though she "gave us back" Facebook access so we can see pics of the kids we aren't allowed to speak to or visit ( eye-roll, sigh, sniff.) I DO NOT follow her. I just can't. I have FB because it is the only contact I have with my sisters, sadly enough. I don't want to lose them too.
But the stuff I was referring to in this thread are the countless banners on websites. Anyhoo, can't do much about it but I got it off my chest, HA!

@QuiltyMom OHhhh! We were going to go back in Dec, but some things came up. Now we don't know when, or if we can go. We should have gone back when husband was finishing AIT at Fort Lee!
