For us, it's a quiet weekend here. The weather is lovely (finally after a long hot, desert summer) and my daughter and I enjoyed some time outside this morning at the local farmers' market. There was a doggy costume contest which was adorable. Then a quick hit at Target for a few odds and ends. Tonight, DH and I are going to see the movie Good Fortune at our local dine-in theater.

What are you doing this weekend?

Long weekend here.....a few errands to do....grocery shopping & a trip to the home improvement store for pest control stuff & home variety store (they sell home appliances, manchester, kitchenware, luggage etc so a bit of everything) to get some new pillows while they are 60% off....I've been waiting for a sale which happens more often than not before I bought them but for quality of sleep I kind of needed them long ago. Apart from that, just hunkering down at home as it's very windy & rainy..... typical spring long weekend weather really.

Yardwork for us, we had to prune back the cotoneaster hedge quite hard - it was 4 feet from the fenceline and now it is just 1 foot away. Lots of branches to put out for yard waste pickup next week!

Hunkering down for stormy weather here in the PNW...they say it never rains in Autzen Stadium, but I think they will be in for a rude awakening while hosting Wisconsin today. Took myself out for breakfast at a local diner. It was nice, but I'm glad I made it home before the real wind started. It is coming in waves.

That sounds like a lovely mix of busy and relaxing! Just what I like for a weekend.

Good job tackling that! I have a list of yardwork that needs doing if you have extra time. :giggle

Nothing like a diner breakfast! And a nice cozy, rainy fall weekend sounds great from where I'm standing.

Pretty quiet here too.
I had a couple of online classes to give yesterday morning (I'm already on Sunday morning now :giggle) and some errands with hubby in the afternoon but today shall be about design and maybe scrap too, if I have enouhg juice. It's rainy outside anyway so no going out involved.

I hope you all have a sweet weekend!

We were at a euchre tournament (card game) all day today. We didn't win any money though but still it was fun. Tonight I am binging a few shows and packaging up some bracelets for craft fairs as the markets will start in a few wks. Tomorrow I will be packing for our polar bear expedition and on Monday will do a final re-check of the packing to make sure we have everything and then will go swimming for a few hours. I'll stay home Monday night b/c we leave for the airport early Monday morning.

Quiet weekend here. Listened to the local HS football game on radio last night. They were playing for an undefeated season, the league championship and a spot in the state championship tournament. If they lost the game, they would have been co-champs with the team they played in the league but still would make the state tourney. They won 61 to 34 so are outright champs!

Today has been college football on TV and streamed 1 game on the computer. Texted with my 3 cousins during the streaming game. A son of the one cousin is a grad assistant coach for the team. They won.

I did the last page in my June vacation. Now need to start the August/September vacation.

Tomorrow will be straightening up the house and running the iRobot before the cleaning lady comes Monday morning. Should do a load of laundry as well.

sounds like a nice cozy weekend. From my selfish perspective, I hope you find lots of time to design. :giggle

I'm so excited about your polar bear expedition! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Yay for your local HS team!!!

And ah yes, the classic cleaning before your cleaning lady comes! :giggle

It's been lovely here weather wise. I went to a community service project this morning helping with some yard work for about an hour. I had to run home to help my daughter get ready for her marching band competition - she's part of color guard so it's lots of hair & makeup to get ready! They have an 80's themed show this year so we get the crimper and the hair spray going lol. Then I did some deep cleaning in my bedroom and cleaned the bathroom as well - go me!
We just had a Trader Joe's grand opening in our town, so we ventured to check it out. It was a zoo, but we battled the crowd and got a few things. I slow cooked some chicken to have on hand for meals this week, and I made BLT's for dinner and watched the world series baseball game. Good weekend so far!

It is really just getting things off of the counters in the kitchen and bathroom. No need to have the extra stuff for her to mess with. She has told me that she likes coming to my house because she doesn't have to mess with all that stuff!

Holy cow, girl, you've been busy! My daughter used to do dance so I spent many a weekend doing challenging hairdos!

I went to TJs yesterday. Aside from the usual stuff, I always like their seasonal plants and stuff. We bought a bunch of mini pumpkins and some gorgeous mums. Glad you have one near you!

I haven't had a cleaning person for a while now but I definitely used to do that when we had a cleaning team. :)

Since yesterday, I've been trying to make a plan for a paper lantern, but as I can't visualise it well in space, it's very difficult.
Until now, I've made lanterns on a hexagonal base from a file I bought, and I'd like to adapt it to a square base.

We had our last softball tournament for my oldest yesterday. The early games were a bit too cold but the afternoon warmed up so it was nice to sit outside as a family.

Today I’ve got church at noon and another church meeting at four. I’ve been forcing family time on Sundays so we’ll probably play a game or watch a movie together since it’s too cold to go outside.

Happy Sunday everyone!

My new "toy" arrived Friday evening... I'm almost done installing it...
