Daniel's birthday isn't until June, but he wanted to have his birthday party before the end of the school year because every year many of his friends are traveling and can't come. So we did the same thing as last year . . . we had the boys come to the house and then we drove to my mom's yard for them to have a NERF battle. I took some photos and then went inside with my mom to sew. We didn't end up sewing, but listened to music and chatted. About 8:00, we came back home and I put the boys in the shower, one in the front and one in the back, and set 5 minute timers. Boy-oh-boy, were those kiddos smelly! LOL So in 15 minutes, everyone was showered and all the towels and clothes were in the washing machine. We had present opening after that, followed by singing and blowing out the candles.
Hubby and I went to the bedroom about 10. He brought my chair and ottoman that I've been sleeping in since December into the bedroom. I read and surfed my phone and chatted with hubby. We fell asleep about 11. I was up at midnight, 1 am, 3 am, 5 am . . . it was a long night that way. The boys were very good, but um, someone went to the bathroom and they had to wake us up at 3 am because they clogged the toilet. It was funny and a good giggle at first, until it took hubby and I about 20-30 minutes to get it clear.
I spent the morning in the bedroom reading and sleeping, and then got up for a bite to eat and then returned to the bedroom again. It was much more relaxing for me to just check out and not see my house in a mess. The boys didn't break anything (except for the toilet temporarily) but they did have chairs and blankets and pillows and candy wrappers and soda cans and bottles everywhere! We have gotten everything back to zero again, with the floors vacuumed and dishes washed, etc.
It's now 3:30 pm and everyone left 30 minutes ago. I'm now prepared to scrap the afternoon and evening away! Tomorrow will be more of the same, relaxing and scrapping (I hope!)
