when i first started digi, years ago, people used to actually be responsive to CC comments on layouts. (CC = constructive criticism) instead of just a comment of "cute layout" that really is simply fluff (yes, i have posted that very comment on occasion), there would actually be comments made like "maybe a different font in the title" or "a little smaller photo may have worked better."
we all want affirmation our work is good, sure... (unless your name is Rez and you are just a princess like that). but, are we confident enough to share our work and open ourselves up for a little criticism? the beauty of art is that there is no "right" way to do things - i always tell my kids, "it's YOUR art!" but, at the same time, there are some things that can help a project be improved to be a bit more appealing to the viewing eye.
some such examples include using a different font, angling a photo when it's originally straight on the page, cropping a photo differently, changing the color of a particular element, deleting a photo background, decluttering in a specific spot, etc.
so, who is willing to share some work and leave themselves up for some CC? if i ever get 2seconds to finish up some of those 100 layouts i've got
, i am more than happy to share. link us up or post a layout here so we can have a chance to help each other improve and maybe learn something new along the way...
