My daughter turned in her papers to go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the waiting is killing me. We think she'll be getting her mission call today, because her name showed up yesterday as a missionary on the online donations screen. That happened with several of her friends, so today we are checking the email every few minutes to see if her call is there. If and when it comes, she'll come home from college and open/read it with our family. We're really hoping it comes today, because my hubby has to leave on a business trip this week. He pushed his flight back to the latest one he could get tonight just in case the email comes.

I'm a nervous wreck. I couldn't sleep last night and today I've been cleaning the house and trying to keep my mind off of it. I'm just so excited to find out where she'll be serving her mission.... I can't stand it! The wait is killing me!

How are you with waiting? Do you stay calm or are you a nervous wreck like me?

Good luck

Last Friday my granddaughter was upset that she had not received a letter of acceptance to her choice of high school that some of her friends had already received.

It was her birthday, and seeing a package for her, Connor had hidden it Thursday, thinking it was a birthday present.

She was elated that she was accepted to her first choice but the waiting was stressful.

with job hunting i’m always waiting for responses - sometimes i’m quite patient (mainly when it’s a job rather than the job), other times i’m checking my emails 6000 times in a day!

That's hilarious! I mean, the agony for her, but the sweetness of Connor wanting her to be surprised!

It depends. I can be patient. But I can also be the most impatient person. It just varies based on the situation and how excited I am about it.

I know how hard it is to wait. Fingers crossed for news to come quickly.

I hate waiting too. I have to try really hard to think positive, then let the thoughts go for now b/c otherwise it will drive me crazy LOL.

For us, waiting has mostly been with medical stuff for Bailey. It's a constant stream of waiting for phone calls, appts, diagnoses, treatment ideas, etc. The good thing is we've all gotten much better at waiting, finding ways to cope, focusing on small tasks, getting our minds off things but not busy enough to over-burden ourselves.

Waiting sucks.

How sweet of Connor to want to make her birthday special, but poor girl having to stress the wait ... glad she got accepted to her first choice.

Waiting for medical results is the worst and you've been doing this for quite a while now. I hope and pray things keep improving for Bailey.

I'm used to waiting for anything & everything. My kids take 10 years to get ready in the morning, to eat, to leave the house, to get ready at night, etc.

I also spend a lot of time waiting at work. Send an email, and wait for a reply. Create the bulletin & announcements, and wait for people to look at them. Create the calendar, and wait for people to add in their own events. Post to social media, and wait for a response.

I feel like the only time I'm not waiting on something or someone is the couple hours at night between when the kids go to bed and when I do.

Im pretty good for waiting, unless its somthing to do with medical health tests or appointments.

Im also struggling with waiting for the MOC results, I'm checking for them several times a day. :giggle

Definitely a nervous wreck... we are currently waiting to see if my hubs got an interview at a company *fingers crossed* and we are both anxious and excited and nervous! :)

We are waiting....
1) DD has applied to 2 colleges
2) DS has applied to graduate school
3) job cuts are coming at DH's work and he thinks it is very likely his job will be cut

Meanwhile, life goes on... at least the wedding in June has almost all of the big decisions made. I'm just the mom of the groom (oldest son) - rehearsal dinner is planned. Now to dress shop for me.

I would be stressed out!!!

I am a bit of a control freak so waiting is a bit too much for me. When I finished my pharmacist's exam, it took longer than usual for my results. Of course there were rumors that if you passed you got them right away, and if they took longer than four days you failed. Or big envelope versus small envelope. It was nerve wracking! They even had a 1-900 number you could call for results and I would pay to find out nothing every day! I did pass and it was a small envelope not a large one, lol. SO much drama!!!

@keepscrappin I hope by now the awaited email has arrived.

Sometimes I am good at waiting and other times not.
Presently I am waiting on results of blood tests etc.

The email has arrived but we're waiting until 6:30 to open it with some friends and family. I don't think I can wait another 25 minutes.... hehe! They're making guesses on a BIG world map to pass the time, but I'm not. I'm keeping it in and waiting to find out. I don't want to influence her in any way. I just want her to be happy with wherever she's called to serve.

Those are big things to stress about. I hope all goes well for you and your family.

I'm a control freak too. I would be paying for the calls too... Congrats on passing your exam!
