waiting | pad patter 2.19.19

I'm not really all that good at waiting, but I'm like you, I clean and do all kinds of little things to keep my mind occupied. Right now I'm waiting and hoping they call a snow day tomorrow haha.

i'm in the 'waiting sucks' boat too and now i'm dying to know where they're sending her too so make sure you tell us Kayla!

She's going to the Argentina Salta Mission. She leaves on May 28th. She will go to the Mexico Missionary Training Center to learn Spanish for 6 weeks and then go to Argentina. I can't believe this just got real, real fast. Now I need to get passports, visas and all kinds of things ready for her. It's going to be a busy 97 days until she leaves. Wish me luck!

It's snowing here now and the big kids just left to head back to college and my hubby left for the airport. I'm exhausted and wish they'd call a snow day tomorrow too. I haven't even figured out what I'm teaching tomorrow. I've been too distracted with the mission call. She's leaving a lot quicker than my son did. We found out in March for him and he left the end of July. Plus I wasn't working back then. She's leaving in 97 days, going foreign and I'm working so I've got my work really cut out for me this time around. I'm not sure if we'll be able to fit in a family vacay before she leaves. She might miss one or two like Chase did when he was gone.

Congrats on getting the news, hopefully all the plans now fall beautifully into place without too much extra waiting and stress.

I hate waiting, feel like so much of life is hurry up and wait!

Well... I stink at waiting, but reading through this thread was awesome because I got to find out where your daughter was going by the end of the thread! :giggle That sounds like an awesome mission! I hope she loves it!

Ug I am awful at waiting! The older I get, the better I get at controlling myself and still functioning somewhat, but I still have a hard time. I have something personal right now that I'm stressing over right now because of waiting for a response. I couldn't sleep well last night because of it - my mind just keeps going over the different scenarios that could play out and how life would look in either case LOL. Don't you just wish you could press the fast forward button sometimes?? It reminds me of that movie with I think Adam Sandler....can't remember the name, but he had a remote where he fast forwarded through things!!

Wow what an adventure (has she learnt any Spanish before? We just submitted passport papers for the kids here, their old ones just expired, just for a holiday, it apparently takes 3 weeks to get them back here, not sure if thats standard world wide but good luck getting everything done - was she happy with the destination she got? Hope you got a snow day too!

I'm impatient but I try to wait patiently. It doesn't always work out well lol! As much as I say "I'm impatient!" that isn't the full story. I may be crawling out of my skin on the inside, but I try to appear calm, ya know? So yeah, on the inside I'm freaking out, but on the outside I look cool as a cucumber.

Dh just got his back, about 4 weeks. On average they say it's 6-8 weeks here.

How long are you passports good for?

no snow day for us, just lots of snow but not enough to close schools. Aspen is happy with the destination. It's definitely going to be adventure. I think it'll push her but she's always wanted to do a humanitarian trip to a 3rd world country, so now she'll get to do it for 18 months instead of 3.

I try to appear clam, but I totally freak out on the inside. If you look closely you'll see that I'm shaking in my boots but trying to play it cool... hehe.
