Underwear

I promise you my dearest, as soon as I get across the pond, you'll be my first stop! Or my second, depending on jet lag. ;) I've told DH that "soon" we have to go to the British Isles, France, and Spain (and "soon" means "the next few years, perhaps after my dad retires so my parents can easily watch the kids" lol). :)

I want this in writing, signed!!!!! :heartlub:heartlub:beat:heartlub:heartlub

Ha ha Anne - Those look like the Costco undies I have! Yes, after 2 babies and old age, we need those big girl panties to hold everything in place. I would buy crazy colors but Costco only has the boring neutrals. I do have to have 100% cotton. I need to expand my undie shopping as I would love some colors.

Bras are a pain. Let's see got a cup size for each bio kid, plus one in old age - so yeah, they hang low. I do own some of those stretchy one piece comfy ones (I think they sold on TV as sleep bras). They are great under big t-shirts and for days when you don't want to deal with straps sliding down.

Funny story -- so growing up my initials were BAR, which if you make the traditional monogram with the last name one in the middle ---> BRA. So when I got married, I did not want to be a BAG, so now I am a BRG.

LOL You know I had never given much though to initials until I came to England and especially because my husband cared a lot about them, all men in his family had been a variation of his initials (ACT) and then at the same time, I discovered that in Brazil there was a trend gaining popularity (unfortunately very expensive for me) that was getting a Numerologist to look at your numbers and then you would get a suggestion of what to add or eliminate from your initials in order to have success/progress in life. So may actors and singers did that... and for some it seemed to work!!!

@MrsPeel Re your original article. I do energy work (JinShinJyutsu) and there are colors for each day (which I forget!) so I do get the point of the article. I had one teacher who really stuck to that and some of the students used to tease her saying "Anita is tied to the colors" but there is truth to the effect of color on us. Years ago when I worked for an insurance firm in the 60s, there was no place for the many underling women to eat their lunches so some ate in the bathroom. (Yuck) Management created a "ladies' lunch room" - yes, that kind of thing was common back then - and it was painted bright orange, the color to get you moving. There was no lingering in THAT room. As I was one slight step above the clerks, I had more lunchtime freedom and usually went shopping!

Still, as long as the 'smalls' under my outer clothes feel comfortable enough to forget they're there, I'm happy.

oh that is so interesting! I have to look it up with time,, had never heard about it!!!!
I know the colors that we can see can definitely have an influence ...but I was wondering about the undies because you can't see them... I have some weird habits (actually, I think it fits more maniac stuff LOL) about the kind of luck this or that shirt or leggings or piece of jewelry bijouterie I wear, but is not so much color, but the vibe of things....I had no sleep so it is not going to be easy to explain now LOL

I just came here to say I have been afraid to open up this thread since I saw it yesterday morning! :giggle

:rofl:rofl:rofl
Now I want to KNOW!!!!! :rofl:rofl

Comfort here too, no more strange feeling things to my body anymore.
That's for young girls who have to show off. I'm settled, lol! :bk

Can I just tell you how much I love this thread? I SO needed a smile this morning and this did the trick.

I can avoid that. Actually, now that I'm a mom, I want to avoid showing off my bum to my kids' friends and their parents. Eek. No one needs to see that at preschool drop off.

Best.Meme.Ever.

My undies are almost all cartoon or superhero. Yes, I'm 50. I have Cookie Monster, Bat Man, Minions, several Star Wars, all of the different Avengers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mario & Luigi, and more. I don't wear any Disney, though. As much as I love Disney characters I don't want them on my undies.

This is awesome. Especially the part about not wearing Disney :giggle . Totally cracked me up.

If I ever have to ride in an ambulance, or be rescued by a cute fireman, I want a cute bra.

I have a fear of passing out or even dying naked, like in the shower. EWWW. NOOO. *definition of vanity*

Maybe it's a mood bra. Kinda like the mood rings of the 60s, ya know?

Patent this! Then you'd always have an excuse to flash folks. "How do I feel? Let me SHOW you!" :giggle

I don't really give my undies much thought. I wear thongs pretty much exclusively and they are mostly white, beige, or black. I do have one red one. I have worn them so long now that anything else is really uncomfortable to me. I feel like I'm always tugging at anything else :giggle. My bras are all black or beige and very plain, but they must have a little lift to them since my 3 children left me with nothing but what appear to be socks full of change :giggle

1. I bow to your ability to wear thongs. I'm squirming just thinking about it.
2. "socks full of change" Bwhahaha

It was totes worth it!

Re: my undie choice. I like color as well as black, but always comfy. I wear the ones that say "muffin top" or some such, but shockingly they do not actually get RID of the muffin top. *thinking of suing them for false advertising* I like my bras to match but they rarely do just cuz I'm lazy. I HATE wearing a bra but sadly, it is a necessity, even around the house (thank you, teenage boys). This is one reason I like sweatshirts and tend to wear them until I start sweating between by saggy boobs. It's a hard life. ;)

I read the article. I don't know that my underwear color makes a difference to me. However, yellow is totally my power color for clothes. I don't wear white or black except for my white nursing pants. I have 2 white bras, 2 black bras, 1 neutral, & 1 paisley. I always buy the bras with one pair of matching underwear for each. But, I rarely wear a matching set, it's something fancy if I do. I think all of my cotton underwear are crazy colors & patterns. I seem to have a lot of coral.

@MrsPeel Yellow knickers with white pants? Wow!

funnily enough, I also LOVE buying the matching sets but the knickers are usually very very uncomfortable so I end up no wearing them LOL
and about the New Years Eve `thing...the yellow would be a very very faint yellow, but also, none much cares as the tradition is to go to the beach , there are ceremonies of fishermen putting a statue of Iemanja (Queen of the Seas) in small boats with champagne bottles and white roses, is her day, and it is like a blessing offering, but it turns into a massive party, where everyone loves everyone, (at least in my times LOL) and there is the main fire works show which is stunning..... nowadays they have free gigs, shows of very famous people who go play for free so everyone can see them.... being in the beach on the turning of the year is an experience I can't describe with words, I ll look fro a video but is NOt the same...the energy, the beauty of kind people, everyone (or most) dressed in white and happy....is out of this world, none is even vaguely thinking about how the others are wearing, we were too busy having fun and loving everyone :)
