Anyone else have a word they seem to always get wrong when writing or typing? Over the last few months I've been typing a lot about my college studies for job applications and it seems like the word 'tertiary' seems to trip me up 9/10 times and its usually so bad that spellcheck doesnt know how to correct it.

Oh I totally understand!
There is a word that I know how to spell but whenever I actually write it down, it looks wrong. That word is "were." And it's a word that I use a lot, so you'd think I'd start remembering lol. I'd write papers in college and stare at the screen whenever I wrote "were" and second-guessing myself. I still do, even as I wright this! I'll repeat the word to myself too. Like some weird little mantra. :blush

oh yes, definitely. lol at the spellchecker not knowing what to make of it. i raise my hand as guilty here as well!
i don't know why ... but i had always struggled with spelling/typing the word "silhouette". it's gotten better now that i have a little portrait sitting right next to me when i'm at my desktop. :)
there are many more ... and like sara - sometimes simple, very common words like "were" get me too. they just don't seem to be spelled correctly.

one of my client's names is Shannon. I always type is Shannong (as in "ing" I think). I have to always make sure it's right before I email her!

I purposely misspell 'gurl' (long story!) in non-professional communication so I had to teach my phone how I spell it. :)

I also usually shorten 'about' to 'abt' (no story, just a quirk!) so I have to read over anything I've written professionally to make sure I didn't write 'abt.'

Fortunately & definitely I would be in trouble if it were not for spell-check in the browser. Occasionally, I get it right, but not often. Spelling is not my strong suite.

@littlekiwi - I feel your pain. I have even been know to type the synonym of the word that it can't find. Look that word up in the thesaurus and hope the word I really want is in there.

License always seems to trip me up. I'm never sure if I'm spelling it correctly.

recipe and receipt are my most common trips, I have to chant i befoe e except after c and still get it wrong - neither one looks right to my brain, lol

When I am typing quickly I will occasionally type the word you instead of your. It makes me sound like a goof if I don't catch it.

Ohhhh yeah!! My hands keep up with my brain LOL!! I can't think of any at this moment, but I know they just don't look right sometimes so I'm always double triple checking them.

Yes, I have oodles. Most that I can think of at the moment relate to work..... Rials for Rails, Stiars for Stairs, etc. A lot of times, I type too fast, and certain fingers seem to move faster than the others. :giggle

I'm also like @BevG - I also type in a word, and use the Synonym option. :)

My issue right now is getting used to a new keyboard - so many mistakes, lol! Takes me triple the time to type!

I use Mozilla Firefox for my browser. Love, love the spell check. It is necessary...

In the chat tonight, they were talking about spell check in PS CC but not in PSE. I use Artisan and one of its best features is spell checking and it flags it in the element panel if the text box has a misspelling. I would be lost otherwise...

Although, I do have a printed album where not only did I misspell the title on the cover, but I also misspelled my daughter's middle name on the same cover. I used such a fancy font that I did not notice the extra letters until it was printed. The software flagged it for me, but I assumed the error was her first name since it is unusual.

"restaurant" is a word that always trips me up. I can never remember where the "U" goes. Lol!

At one point, I was dealing with some litigation at work. However I was mistyping,"hearsay", autocorrect kept turning it into "heresy." It would have been a lot more fun had I been dealing with a case about witchcraft instead of bribery of public officials.
