WWYD?

End of this month Im house sitting for 5 weeks. Last time I did it I didnt have an ipad so took my laptop. This time around I have an ipad. Right now 90% of my tech time is on the ipad with only digi scrapping which I want to get back into eventually and job applications being done on my laptop. My grandmother has a basic laptop I can use for printing but id rather not go there as Id probably blow it up if I started putting PSE on it. If I drove there would be no question of taking it but as I'll have up to 2 taxis, 2 trains and a bus one way I'm not sure what to do

If you can do 90% on your ipad and have access to a computer there I would leave my laptop home.
That is alot of changes during your travel!

well all i'm doing is facebook, youtube and a bit of web browsing on my ipad, the heavy duty stuff is still on my laptop. The only thing I would 100% miss if I didn't take my laptop is scrapping and i'll be housesitting during NSD - maybe I should take it....hmm

I would definitely take my laptop for a 5 week stay. I could't go without.
But I also understand the travel issue so you want to pack light. And if you really think you're not really gonna use it, then you might leave it. Whenever I stayed in someone else's house, I always brought my laptop.

If you need it for scrapping and NSD is during that time I would bring it....

I was going to say 5 weeks is a LONG time, unless you are allowed to use a computer in their house. Is that even a possibility?

Given a choice between an iPad or a laptop, the laptop would win most every time with me.

I would bring both. But I am also a person that packs everything but the kitchen sink for anything crafty or trip wise! Now, I am going for a weekend stay to one of my besties and I will just take my iPad But if I was going to go for more than a week, I would have to take both!!!

Have a good trip!

I'd have a tough time going 5 days without my laptop AND my iPad! I could not imagine 5 weeks without both!

I would take it too... If you are going to be there for 5 weeks, that's a long time to take off from the job search... Plus, if the laptop is where the scrapbooking happens, then you need it!! :D

Huggles!!

Sorry to add to the extra stuff you have to carry on that challenging sounding move :faint2 but I would definitely take it. Guaranteed there would be something you needed it for, or something that you needed to access on it, over that 5 weeks if you don't. (Of course, if you do take it, there probably won't be LOL!)

Hope it's a nice place you are housesitting and it's fun :agree

I would take it too, 5 weeks is a long time for me not to scrapbook.

I just want to say your new siggie is completely adorable!! Really like it.

@littlekiwi - take both. Can you put one of them in your suitcase with your clothes so you have less to carry? For me, the question always is: Do I take all my camera lens or just the multi-purpose one?

5 weeks - I'm packing it. Especially with NSD - so many fun games and stuff to play!
When I go visit my mom this summer for 3 weeks I'm taking my laptop.

depending on the size of it and how heavy it is, for 5 weeks i'd be taking it - i have an old 17inch Dell that is heaps heavy and i'd wanna leave but my newer smaller one i've used since is light and less bulky in comparison - but it's the EHD's that add bulk and stuff - if u can just make do with your laptop and not half a dozen peripherals, i'd say take it with you!

Well hours after this post, my house was broken into and my laptop along with my mums one was stolen so currently im laptop less
