Today is Sunday Supper Day!
Do you do a Sunday Supper at your house?
Do you have any tradition Sunday meals?
Do you eat with other family members?
What's for supper today??

Sunday is usually the day I cook the most because I have the most time. I don't really have a traditional Sunday meal, it tends to vary from week to week. A few years ago, we had spaghetti every Sunday and then the family told me they were tired of it, so now I change it up. I'm not cooking today, though. We have a chicken casserole from last night and some veggie soup from the night before...we're having a leftover day!!

it's whatever we want. It used to be burgers from my mum's work when she worked Sunday nights (we did it that we had a late lunch before she started, I stayed up late (for obvious safety reasons given history at the time) and we would have a small bite when she got home.

I try to cook as little as possible these days, I like quick and easy, so even though I have more time to cook on the wkend, I don't really want to. So I keep it simple. The meal plan changes all the time. I try to cook meals that have leftovers so it makes it easier to get hubs' dinner ready the next night.

Tonight is chicken fingers (from Costco) with air fried potatoes. I'll have the potatoes too with veggie chili and broccoli. Easy dinner.

We used to do something fun for lunch after church on Sundays, but it's been hit and miss now that my kids work and sometimes work on Sunday right after church. I'd make something breakfast-like for lunch. Eggs & grits, belgian waffles with fancy toppings or hashbrowns and egg scramble. Something like that. Which I like, because it's easy and the kids like it, so they'll actually come to the table without an argument. Lol.

I think we are having shrimp tacos for dinner tonight. Also easy and a family favorite. Score!

Nope! My husband and I take turns cooking Monday through Saturday, then Sunday we take the day off. It's an opportunity to let the young adults here practice cooking for others but so far we all just fend for ourselves. Today I had leftover fried rice and tofu.

No regular Sunday dinner here. Chase had basketball at noon today. His older brother came to the game. Afterwards the three of us went to Anita’s New Mexico Style Mexican restaurant for lunch. The boys picked up a McChicken sandwich and fries for their mother on the way home. She is a super picky eater, and this is something she will eat.

We grew up with the large Sunday meals. Oftentimes it was fried chicken or a roast. We continued the big meals while our daughters were young but we really don’t make big meals that often these days. This morning my daughter called to ask what type of meat (chuck) she should buy for a pot roast. She is an adult and an excellent cook but had never made one.
We are having a Costco Detroit style pizza for supper today.

It's becoming more and more like that at my house, too.

I've really lost all interest in cooking lately...too many years of it lol. I always try to have leftovers as well!
I need to learn to do more in my air fryer. I haven't tried potatoes yet.

I was thinking earlier that I need to start taking Sundays off so I can rest a little more before work on Monday. My 16 year old could use some practice in cooking in a big way. He wouldn't even heat up soup earlier lol

Oooh Mexican. I haven't had that for a little while. Now I'm craving it!

We sometimes have dinner as a family during the week, like Wednesdays, as my clan all work weekends. Two of my adult kids live outside the home. Our teen son is still at home with Dad and I.
Right now my husband has Covid so I'm making my son breakfast for dinner and will make my husband a few breakfast burritos. I cant do breakfast food so I'm making chicken rice with veggies for me.

We grew up with Sunday meals as well, usually roast. I'm doing it less and less...too many years of it. I distinctly remember when my mother started feeling that way as well. Fend for yourself nights became much more common :)

Ohh hope is not feeling too bad and is better soon!!
I love breakfast for dinner!
I have two grown and gone and one at home as well. I wish my teen liked breakfast for dinner, but I can't convince him!

Leftover breakfast potatoes actually sounds really good!!
They probably aren't what you are thinking though. Just potatoes coated with olive oil and seasoned with garlic powder and paprika done in the air fryer. But it is a simple enough recipe for me and I get several meals out of it.

Do you do a Sunday Supper at your house? We had it for years - and still do - now, we usually go to our dd's house, but not always. They're sick, so no Sunday supper this week. :(
Do you have any tradition Sunday meals? My husband used to make Corn Pudding. When Braden was a little guy (he's now 18) he said "Will Papa make that 'yellow stuff' cause I love it". It took us awhile to figure out he meant Corn Pudding. We still call it "the yellow stuff". LOL
Do you eat with other family members? We do - we all pile around our table or who ever's table.
What's for supper today?? We're having Veggie Lasagna because there's no family supper this week.

Do you do a Sunday Supper at your house? When I was growing up, we had Sunday dinner right after church. Fried chicken, roast, casseroles, etc. The table was groaning from all the food on it. My mom STILL cooks this way. She doesn't cook every Sunday, but when she does, she goes all out.
Do you have any tradition Sunday meals? See above. Fried chicken, potato salad, green salad, garden peas, etc.
Do you eat with other family members? Again, much different from when I was growing up. We don't eat around the table much anymore. For a while, we were having family TV night, watching The Mandalorian while we had dinner. Once we finished that series, we tried a couple of other series/movies.
What's for supper today? Tonight I made lasagna with frozen cheese ravioli. We made the meat sauce and let it simmer for a couple of hours. Then I made up my ricotta and parmesan mixture and layered it in with mozzarella and lots of sauce. My family RAVED. I made so much that I think we'll be eating on it all week. LOL
