Shadows

i use one little bird's shadow styles - and almost never tweak unless i want it to look like a paper is coming off the page or something like that .... it takes me forever to scrap as it is, so i don't mess with peppermint's perfection :)

I have my own set of shadow styles that are based on Peppermint's and then I have a couple of actions I run on top of them if I'm feeling it. And after the Month of Challenges I got into puppet warping some of my shadows... I try not to get sucked into it, but I love paper realistic looking pages so it's a struggle not to!

I am a tweaker, startting off with some shadowsets I created myself too.

Another one that tweaks. I'll start with my own shadows that I set up for different types of elements as I build it and then I'll change the colors and tweak/warp the shadows on the more dimensional elements as part of the finishing touches.

i use a set of styles and then i tweak but very little. i use amanda's wave action a lot.

me too, I change everytime and when I found a good set I try to remember for another page

I start from my saved go-to styles but I will usually tweak them on each page as I see they need it.

I have a set of styles that I have created after experimenting over the years. I use them as a starting point and tweak some of the layers!

Check out the TLP blog for some great shadow tutorials!

I do not use any shadow actions, I like to play with all the shadows for every element/paper etc, love depends on the papers I use to how dark I like them

Since I'm only using PSE tweaking shadows requires more work than I'm willing to do. I would love to upgrade and do customized shadows one day but there is just no time.

I have an awesome shadow style set from Wendy Tunison when I was on her CT. Its served me well. I have tweaked a bit - mostly just with washi tape. I love to play with dodge/burn and opacity to make it look a bit more realistic. Some washi tape like Just Jaimee's looks pretty awesome already so mostly just opacity tweaks, but occasionally I dodge/burn those too. Little steps make a big difference! I also like to create shadow layers with greenery or string/ribbon to help lift them off the page. Warp is great for that.

I don't tweak.... pretty much ever. My method in GIMP is: Filter>Drop Shadow>accept.... CNTRL F to repeat on each layer/element that needs it.
in PSE12: layer styles>drop shadow>accept... alt+mouse drag/click to repeat on every layer that needs it.

I use styles and tweak when I feel it needs it. I had forgotten about Amanda's wave action! Will use that today!

I am a tweaker too. I usually setup a shadow when I open PS and then use it on everything. Then I go in and adjust as needed. I love using the warp tool on shadows as well.

depends on how lazy I am feeling. :giggle
I thinks that describes me too. Also depends on the page and what's on it. I'll play with shadows if I notice things don't look right, but sometimes I feel like Dali and stretch the possible.

Thanks Lorry! I hadn't had a chance to research yet. I've pinned it, and will try!
