What are your plans for this final day of 2012?

Mine are... um nothing.

I'm going to go for a run, and then get groceries and work on a BYOC page. That's about it. Probably won't even be awake at midnight. :carryon

We've never done anything big on NY. John typically had to work most of the time so it's never been a big holiday for us. Plus you couldn't pay me to be out on the roads after about 8 p.m. :( So today will be a cleaning day for us, and I'll be lucky to make it to 9 p.m. before I'm passed out on the floor with the dogs (from exhaustion, not alcohol!)

i'll be traveling :) we are headed back home from our vacation late this afternoon! then hopefully a movie at home w/ DH and bed early-ish so i can wake up nice and early tomorrow AM to start taking down our christmas decorations :) (we left for vacation on the 25th so the house is a disaster! ackk!)

We're not doing much, NY is a pretty big deal here in Norway, well mostly, people either gather with friends/family or they go out. Fireworks are sold and legal today, so at midnight there's lots of fireworks on the sky. However, this year my son and I are just spending the evening at home, and go to bed at regular times. My son easily get migraines if his sleep scheduled is rocked that much, so it's not worth it.

Aren't we a fun bunch? I'll be nursing my family back to health and hoping I don't catch any of it. They've all been sick since Christmas!

It's snowing here so I'm glad we didn't have anything planned. I have a turkey in the oven. Won it around Thanksgiving and decided to make it for New Year's so we can have the leftovers to eat the rest of the year (we weren't home for Thanksgiving and we were home for a Christmas dinner but we left the next day). I'm not thrilled about needing to get up and make the fixings to go with the turkey dinner here in a half hour, but I got steamable mashed potatoes, gravy in a jar, corn is in the crock pot and the stuffing is not Stove Top but is super easy. And refrigerated crescent rolls.

My mom always told me that the chores need to be caught up before the stroke of midnight or they won't be caught up all year. I'm superstitious enough to have laundry going because I'd like to go to bed with it caught up. The rest of the house is fairly clean so I'm not going to worry about it. The toilets, however, are another story....

We always head to our "surrogate parents" house for New Years Eve. We'll hang out, drink, start a huge bonfire with all of our Christmas trees...we'll stay the night and have some breakfast in the morning.

Today is my payday (I only get paid once a month) so I'm thinking I might go get myself a new pair of Uggs. Mine are getting kinda old and I'm tired of cleaning them. I'm thinking starting the New Year off with a fresh pair of Uggs is in order. LOL!

We are driving an hour north to my BIL's house. Gonna set the kids up on an air mattress and Harry Potter marathon. We will be having cosmos and playing cards till the wee hours. Should be fun and NOT out in public!!

I will probally paint my nails and harass whoever is on FB. Hubby will be passed out as usual because he worked last night. Might catch up on some AHS Asylum. I need my Dylan fix now that he is supposed to be IN it. Or rewatch the first AHS

We're headed to Legoland for the Brick drop and fireworks at 6:00 and then out to a friend's house for a party afterwards. It's kid-friendly so we're not getting too crazy. :)

We're cleaning the whole house. Sleeping the baby right now and then back to cleaning. Almost done. Then... nothing! Just staying home.

well, so far, i've filed 2012 paperwork, cleaned bathrooms, fed people, cleaned the kitchen. all super fun stuff! it's not looking to promising for great amounts of excitiment going forward either, but it's all good.

What is it with all the cleaning?? Saturday we took down the Christmas stuff, cleaned out the spare bedroom closet and rearranged the holiday boxes. Yesterday I gutted and wiped down our pantry, and washed the comforter and cover. Today I have the oven on clean mode; we've cleaned bathrooms and vacuumed, and are getting ready to mop floors. I also plan to clean out my glass-front cabinets and the den closet.

Honestly, I'll be hanging around at home with the fam. Probably play some PS3 with the kids, relax and watch a movie with Chris, and scrap. Just the way I like it. :)

Scrapping, watching movies and playing kindly w/ dd. We will prob sleep in tomorrow since it's going to be rainy here. Almost forgot - taking down the Christmas tree! Lol!

We are heading to the neighbors for some snacking and drinks, games and a bonfire, let all the kids play and wear themselves out. Then head home at probably 10 or 10:30 :) NYE is over-rated! :giggle
