It's Oscar night! Who's watching? Have you seen many of the nominated films? The only ones I've seen are Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born. Both great movies! We don't have cable tv, so I may try to see if I can catch part of it somewhere online. It usually goes way past my bedtime, so I'll probably just check the winners in the morning. But, I thought it might be fun to do our own Oscar voting! What film do you think will win Best Picture?

I have seen the first three. Which is odd because I have seen them alphabetically too, lol. My hubby doesn’t like awards shows so I will just watch the highlights tomorrow. We will probably watch something about tanks tonite. (As you can see someone gets to watch what they want, lol! Actually I don’t care I will be scrapping anyway.)

I don’t think I know enough to vote.

I didn't know it was time for the Oscars and I haven't seen any of those movies yet. I've only heard of 2 or 3 of them and the only one I know I want to see eventually -- I'm happy to watch via Netflix at home -- is Bohemian Rhapsody. I might like some of the others after I learn about them though, so I will keep reading this thread. :D

I really wanted to see A Star is born. And I understand it’s a remake, but I never saw the others. I was watching something on YouTube and they gave the ending away...now I really don’t want to see it. Maybe one day!

I rented Bohemian Rhapsody from Redbox last week and watched it. It was really good!

I just rented and watched A Star is Born last night. I had seen the 70's remake, but not the others. I already knew the ending as well which was a little disappointing, but it was really good.

LOL Jan..I have not seen any of the nominated movies. I figure I will wait until they are running on the movie channels I already get.. not going to rent thrm from on demand. I really want to see Vice., heard it was good too.

I've only seen Black Panther, we enjoyed it. I can't comment on the rest. Didn't know the Oscars were happening either.

I haven't seen any of them I don't think! I hardly watch movies, but I do want to see A Star is Born. When it is on Netflix I will. I'll probably watch the Oscars since we are having a crazy blizzard and all the roads are closed, so nowhere to go!

Black Panter is the only one I have seen also! Wakanda!! bhahha
I was a Queen Fan years ago, and Freddy's voice is phenomenal...I admit to watching every trailer about the movie.
Is green book the one of the black musician being chauffeured by the white dude thru the south? The trailer/previews look spectacular. I love a movie of love and reconciliation, and so hope this is one that shows that.
I don't watch Oscars, or really care about Hollywood's opinion on about anything...lol, and figure that it will be a huge rally of their beliefs. But, that being said, I do love to look at the dresses the next day!

Man, I thought y'all would clue me in on some of these haha
I want to see Vice as well.

I didn't really know they were happening until I stumbled across something online :giggle

A Star is Born was really good. I might watch it again today before I return it :)

Yep, that's Green Book. I haven't seen it but it does look good!
And yeah, I'm not much on them being so political in their speeches but I do love to look at the red carpet stuff!!

I’ve only seen two, but my friend is Rami Malek’s cousin so I’m rooting for Bohemian Rhapsody. We will be flying home during the Oscars but I’m recording them. I love all of the red carpet stuff, so I’m sad to miss it.

My BIL saw vice and thought it was good. I rent all my movies from redbox. For less than $2 you can’t go wrong. They always send out coupons too.

That's so cool! He was so great in that movie!!

Heck yeah, I love Redbox! If you sign up for text messages, they send rent one/get ones and free nights all the time. I get some kind of offer from them just about every day.

Haven't seen any of them. Won't watch the show (haven't in over 30 years, why start now).

Only movie I have any interest in isn't on your list even though it has some minor nominations. First Man. I missed the premiere here in town in October the night before it was released nationwide. I'll catch it when it is on tv or amazon prime for free.

i saw 4 from the list, and I wish I could have seen at least 2 more...

a star is born is really good, I cried a lot...I'm a big fan of the duo Cooper/Gaga and I wish they could win something, not only best music for shallow.

bohemian rapsody is pretty cool, Rami just rocked his interpretation as Freddie mercury and it was really cool to see the whole theatre singing along with the songs...

Vice is very good...all the politics and the problems of the world during the period of time and the relations. ..really, Christian bale is very good on his role.

and the Blackkklansman...is a punch in the stomach. I wish I could explain it better but I'm afraid my English is not so good for that. I really wish spike Lee could get best director here.

Roma is on Netflix, I want to see it...and green book is on my wish list also.

The only thing I really want to see during the Oscars is Cooper/Gaga performing Shallow. I love them together.
I really do hope to see most of the rest of the list in the next little while.

I haven't seen any of them, always wait until they come out on my movie channels. I really want to see A Star is Born.
A Star is Born is really good. I am currently trying to talk my DH into turning it on again instead of whatever weird movie he is currently watching lol

I've seen them all. Our local movie theater does 2 Saturday marathons to see all the Best Picture nominees. I love the Oscars and will be watching tonight. I'm lucky that my husband is willing to go to the movie marathons with me. My opinions on the movies: The lead women actors in The Favourite were quite good but overall I just didn't care for the story. Green Book and A Star is Born were good. Vice and BlackkKlansman are must-see movies. Black Panther was really good and simply enjoyable. Bohemian Rhapsody is my pick for winning Best Picture. Amazing music, of course, but great acting all the way around, especially Rami Malek. The movie had so much emotion and energy to it.

I am so out of touch, I have not seen any of them.
The family has seen A star is born, Black Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody though.
So I voted with what they said - Bohemian Rhapsody!
