It’s National Optimist Day!

Are you an optimist, pessimist, or other?

Is there anything you have practiced to become more of an optimist? I’m always looking for ways to improve so give me all your tips and tricks!

I’ve always been an optimist but I’m probably most pessimistic when I’m hungry haha

I call myself a realist - maybe I'm being optimistic about how pessimistic I am? :giggle
My husband is an optimist and I really love that about him. He helps me put things in a better perspective, and sometimes it's vice versa and I help him stay grounded.

Depends, at times I’m all three though I probably end up landing at realist (ie: somewhere in the middle). Having gone through nearly 7 1/2 years of job applications, interviews and ultimately rejections makes you be less optimistic (though I am) and more realistic - it saves the horrible endless roller coaster of emotions I used to go on with every job application.

I’m glad you and your husband balance each other out Lynnette. :) I also love that you’re being optimistic about how pessimistic you are haha ;)

You are amazing for being optimistic after 7 1/2 years of all that work Jennifer! I’m glad you’ve learned how to control all the emotions too.

My family nicknamed me Pollyanna - so I’m an optimist for the most part. Lately though, the pessimist is trying to come through.

I am an optimistic pessimist. At heart, I have a natural tendency to analyze most things - which comes across as criticism and pessimistic. But also at heart I am full of hope and believe things can get better.

Pollyanna is a much nicer nickname than my family would give me haha

Analytical with a hopeful heart...I like that. :)

keeping a gratitude journal has really helped me stay optimistic. Even on truly horrible days if I think hard enough I can find a bright spot. And I consider scrapbooking to be an extension of gratitude journaling.

I think I am more of an optimist than anything else. Which is good because my hubby is definitely a pessimist so we balance each other out pretty well. He says I live in the clouds sometimes, but I like it there, so oh well! :giggle

I love that your gratitude journal helps. That's one reason I do a gratitude journal with my son.

"I like it there" haha you're the best!

I am such an optimist. I never think worse case scenario...but my husband does and it drives me crazy!
I have learned recently that when you think of worst case scenario you should also think of best case scenario and I love that idea!
