Hi everyone and welcome to the October Challenges! This month I am hosting the Scraplift Challenge and we are going to lift one of our tried and true Polly's....Amanda!! @amandaresende Ever since I found the Pad her pages have always captured my eye. She is like a layering, messy paint using, black and white photography queen!!!! I seriously don't think that there is a layout that she has made that hasn't made me want to grow up and scrap like her!! The challenge is simple. Pick a page that inspires you from Amanda's Gallery and scraplift it. Make sure you credit the original page in your credits, and in this thread show us the page you lifted as well as your scraplifted page. As hard as it was, I actually chose this one layout to lift (it was so hard to choose just one!!) And here is the layout that I made inspired by hers I can't wait to see your pages inspired by one of my fave Polly's!!! As always, please remember the regular monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the October Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
Wow! What an impressing gallery! I had such a hard time to choose but I am going with this one: Here´s my version:
WOW!...So Many Incredible Layouts To Choose From!...So Many Are Kindred To My Mixed Media/Art Journaling Style...A Little More Grungy Than My Own Usual Style...But Fabulous,Messy & Beautiful!...I Looked For Quite Awhile Before I Chose The Layout I Wanted To Scrap With...I Chose:Summer Adventure Beach *The Things That Struck Me The Most Was All The Use Of The Circles On Each Side Of The Rectangle Photo...I May Have Used A Round Photo If I Was Creating This Originally...But The Contrast Of The Rectangle Photo...It Gives It A Contrast Lift That I Did Not Expect...It Gives It Life...I Love All The Contrasting Shapes Also...So I Counted How Many Circles Shapes That Were On Each Side Of The Photo...& I Used The Same Amount To Mimic The Effect On Each Side Of My Photo...She Used Paint At The Top To Draw Your Eye Up...I Used A Crown To Achieve A Similar Effect...Since My Photo Was So Close To The Top Of The Layout...I Added My WA Strips To The Bottom Instead To Anchor My Layout & Draw The Eye Down...I Also Used My Paint Scatter As A Shape Alternative To The Large Triangle She Used...But I Mimicked The Circle Paint Also...I Definitely Used A Lot Of Paint To Give Dimension & Lift Like The Original...Eventhough I Went With A Darker Background...I Think You Can See The Similar Effect I Was Going For...My Rectangle Photo In The Middle...With All The Circles Expanding The Eye To The Left & To The Right...And My Circle Scatter & Paint On The Bottom Of The Layout To Draw The Eye Down & Give The Layout A More Cohesive Design Finish...I Have To Say...I Really Liked The Look & How It Gave Lift & Dimension...I Also Went With Bright Colors In Keeping With The Original Layout Design...What A Brilliant Layout & Design!...It Was A Pleasure To Scraplift This Amazing Layout!... *For My Strong Enough Layout-I Used: *Utterly & Completely-Rachel Jefferies *Let Yourself-Bundle-Rachel Jefferies *Silent Battles:Exhaustion-Bundle-Rachel Jefferies *Digital Scrapbooking Studio-DSD 2019-Trick-Collab:The Urban Fairy(2)
There were many of Amanda's pages I admired, but I chose this one because it seemed to fit with the page I had in mind to document my DD's KitchenAid Story. MINE: AMANDA's:
