October 2021 Monthly Muse - Week1 - Mexican Folk Art and Folklore

I will add my page later. Love warm oranges and turquoise. Absolutely hate sugar skulls with a passion. I think the artwork is always spoiled by the "canvas " it is painted on. But I love that the world became smaller in the sense that we can appreciate each others cultures.

I had no idea about mexican art so this took me ages. Here in New Zealand as me about pacific art and I would be well familiar.
So here is my effort.

Fortuity

 

I was inspired by the gorgeous deep colors in the Huichol yarn art and of course all the flowers!

 

This is for the Art Journaling October Week 1 Muse. This was HARD, but I'm really pleased with the challenge. Not only did I complete a layout, but now I'm not freaked out by DdlMuerte anymore!

The colored butterflies represent the living, the white our beloved dead.
