What's your morning look like?

Me - I wake up, debate on whether I have to get up or can sleep another 30 minutes. Once that's decided, I grab my phone and check my email, TLP, and Facebook.

Only after that do I get out of bed, and functioning. Then it's on to breakfast, clothes, school - not necessarily in that order! I've never been a morning person. I prefer the dark night rather than early morning.

How about you? Are you an up and at'em person? Or a snuggle back in bed and ignore the world? Or something else entirely?

I have to say I am not exactly a really early morning person but with early bird boys I have to get up. Especially on school days. My mind does function better in the mornings though and that's when I usually do most of my scrapping. So. I'm usually up at 6:30 am. or earlier!

Define "morning." I'm usually up between 2-3 a.m. to let the dogs out. Then we're up for reals between 5:15 - 5:30 for breakfast. I do a few chores around the house, watch the news for the weather forecast, shower, and out the door by 6:45. At work by 7:15.

I'm not an early morning person, however, with kids and school I have to get up and get them moving. So we're up at 6:10am on school days. Now that I've done it so long, usually on snow days, like today, I still get up. I let the dog out and then surf the web, or read on my Kindle. Rarely do I go back to bed.

On weekends, I sleep in only a couple of hours or less later than the 6a alarm. Usually by 8am I'm up and moving.

I dislike mornings immensely. I am at heart a night owl.

I get up early, (about COD, crack of dawn, aka 5:45) to be at work early, usually between 7 and 7:30. This way I can meet the boys around 4 at home after school. I do have a little flexibility though, which helps me, as my oldest gets my youngest on the bus, and then leaves to walk to school. This is his chore, lol, taking care of his brother.

I LOVE weekends. I usually sleep in a little, compared to my work morning, a lot! :giggle I get up about 7:30 to 8.... usually since I go to bed super late the night before.

Hmm, my mornings start around 4am when I make sure my husband gets up and ready for PT. Once he leaves for PT, I try to go back to bed. But then my phone alarm goes off at 6:45 for me to see if my oldest is awake and getting ready for school. I drive her to the bus stop (about 1/2 mile away) and come back home. I crawl back in bed, hoping to fall back asleep before the youngest wakes up around 8-8:30. I say I try to go to sleep all these times, but most times I'm doing my devotions, reading the news and surfing the digi-world because I'm wide awake. While waiting on my son, some mornings when he wakes up, he'll play in his bed and say "good morning" when he wants to get up out of bed. Other mornings, as soon as he wakes, he'll say "good morning" Either way, the good morning is always my cue to go in his room and get him up and ready for the morning. Once he's awake, it's breakfast, emptying the dishwasher from the night before. By 9, I check on my middle to make sure she's started her school (she's homeschooled) and the rest of the morning is doing school with my middle, sometimes having my 3-year old do his pre-school papers. Oh and I call my mom every morning (that's she's not worked the night before), just to say hello. Sometimes we talk for a half-hour, sometimes it's just a "hey". But I try to call her every morning to let her know I'm thinking of her and my father.

That's my morning.

Today....we are cold turkey potty training my 3-year old. So my schedule has changed big time as I'm running around the house with him "do you have to go potty?" I hope by Monday, he's potty trained!

When the alarm goes off I like to do my daily Bible reading, I have an app that is helping me read through the bible in a year and I am still on tracK! I have a huge glass of water, wave goodbye as DH takes DD to school and then have my computer time before I shower and get ready for everything else I have to do. Pesky things like cleaning and washing and grocery shopping and cooking and you get the gist...

My alarm goes off at 6:35am. It is mostly to be up and make sure my youngest son is up and then I am able to say goodbye to him as he walks out the door for his day.

I make tea. When it is ready I carry it into my craft room, turn on the computer and see what is new in the digi world!

About 9-10am I head down to jump on the treadmill.

shower.

The only day I have a set schedule that does not change is Wednesday mornings 9:30-11:30 I have a Woman's bible study group.

I HATE mornings. LOL.

I wake up at 3:30 to get my daughter (sleep disorder) up for work. I try to go back to sleep, but usually the dog comes in and bugs me. Then Kennedy usually comes and gets in bed with us, and I have to try to get him to remain semi-still so he doesn't reach across the king-sized bed and kick Tim. After Tim gets up (5:00) and launched (5:30-ish), I can sometimes go back to sleep and then get up again at 7:30 to get Kennedy ready for school. Sometimes I hit the snooze until nearly 8 because I'm drained.

I. HATE. MORNINGS.

I'm such a night person.

Now that we're retired I thought I'd be able to sleep in. Not so! I'm awake around 6 most mornings and usually can't get back to sleep, so by 6:30 I'm up, putting on the coffee and checking my email, facebook, etc. When DH gets up, around 8, I shower and get dressed then we have breakfast.

I have the dog alarm, except recently she has been letting me sleep in. It is cold out there and she knows it. She typically goes off between 7:30 and 8am. I am usually already sort of awake due to the multiple alarms my husband has set for work. I throw on some clothes, run a comb through hair (don't want to scare the neighbors), and dog and I go for a walk. Upon return, it is breakfast for both of us, coffee for me, Bible study time, playing fetch with the ball. Then it is turn on the computer and see what the rest of the world is up to, while the dog naps beside me. Eventually I shower, etc.

Since I homeschool my dd, she gets to sleep in most days, except for Friday when she has her weekly classrooms. Then we are both up and out the door at 8am.

I am one of those cheerful irritating people who love mornings!! I don't use an alarm. I wake up somewhere between 4:30am and 6 usually. If hubs is up before me, he makes coffee. I have been known to pretend to still be sleeping so he makes it!
Up, coffee. Read bible and pray. Then to puter for check of daily tasks, what is for dinner, and the Lily Pad. Boys are up at 8am, and I eat breakfast with them. School starts at 9am. They get a recess if they get what is supposed to be done before school done. This keeps breakfast from being 2 hours long..bhahah RECESS is gold in our house!

I love waking up and getting started on a new day. We're very relaxed here. I'm usually the first one up and get some time alone. But a couple of weeks ago my second daughter (13) decided to adjust her schedule. She is the biggest night owl I've ever known and sometimes came close to being nocturnal. Recently she purposefully stayed up all one night AND the following day, and since then she has been getting up before me every morning. That's why she was organizing the DVDs at 8 a.m. as you can see by one of my photos in yesterday's scrapbook page. I wonder how long this will last. :think

Anyway, the things I usually do every morning include pack my husband a lunch, make breakfast for both of us, check TLP, and go for a walk. The walks have been happening later, if at all, since winter finally arrived around Christmas time.

I love mornings, especially early morning before anyone else is awake. I scrap, play my game Cooking Dash, check email, window shop online, all sorts of stuff. It's 3pm that's hard for me. I always feel like I need a nap and no opportunity to actually take one.

I usually wake up anywhere between 4:15 and 4:30 - that's my time to meditate and pray (while still snuggled in bed). My alarm goes off @ 5 - so then I'm up and at 'em. The house is quiet since hubs works 3rd shift. I don't have too much ambition in the mornings - I think mostly because of the sleep meds I take each night (once I have been up for about 30-45 minutes I'm okay.) I do the bare minimum ... which is - get myself ready for work, grab something for my lunch and head out of the door @ 6. On the weekends I sleep in until 8 or so ... I cannot wait to retire to not have to wake up to an alarm!!!!

I am not really a morning person! On my work days (tuesday/wednesday) my alarm goes off at 6:25, I'm up, dressed (I change into scrubs at work, so dressed usually means leggings & sweatshirt! ;) ), grab my coffee & breakfast, usually let the dog out & am leaving by 6:45.

On the other days- usually the kids come wake me up around 7 or 730. Once I get them out the door to the bus, I can enjoy my coffee & peace & quiet for a bit before getting on my house chores. I always make sure to get something done on the house before I jump online- otherwise I'm stuck in the office for a few hours & don't get much accomplished! :)

Another early riser here. I'm up anywhere from 3:30ish to 5. Today it was 3:25. I got used to waking up with an aging doggie, and now that he's gone, I still can't sleep. I pad downstairs, put away the dried dishes, take my supplements, get my lunch ready, brew & sip my Bullet-proof tea and sit in my recliner, in the dark, enjoying the silence. The alarm goes off at 6, and DH wakes up then, but those hours in the wee-morning are mine & mine alone. With MOC, it has been really helpful, with any luck I can get started on a layout before I have to leave the house, around 7:20 to get to work by 8.

I'm not exactly a morning person but I naturally wake up around 7 if I don't have an alarm on. On weekdays, I set the alarm for 6 and then putter in bed on my ipad and listening to NPR til about 6:30 when I get up to face the world, make breakfast and drop my son at school at 7:30.

I was just telling my hubby yesterday that I feel a little bit unmoored this week because my 8th grade son started taking a morning class at the high school so my HS daughter has been driving him to school. Without that school drop-off deadline every day, I'm not quite sure how to time my morning! I'm sure I'll get used to it and it's nice not to do the drop-off but this is the first time in 12 years that I don't have to drop a kid off in the morning!

I love the early morning! It's my quiet, all alone, me time! On weekdays, my alarm goes off at 5. I get straight out the bed and head to the coffee. I usually sit alone with my coffee for 30 min or so and just catch up on things here and there. Shower at 5:30 and get myself ready. Wake up DS at 6:15, and again at 6:30, and sometimes again at 6:40. All while packing my breakfast and lunch and fixing his breakfast. We are out the door at 7. On weekends, I don't set an alarm but I'm usually up by 6:30. That's my best scrapping and catching up on things time!! I have the house quiet usually until around 9:30 or 10...sometimes later. I stay up a lot later on Fri and Sat nights and I like it, but I prefer mornings.
