Week FOUR! You should be very proud of yourself. We have stretched, warm up and done major repetitions on our skinnys. We now need to bring our skinnies to a close. As in all exercises, a cool down is needed.

So for this weeks skinny, we are gonna cool down with our colors! EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeek!
Color-Wheel-cool-vs.-warm.jpg

REQUIRED:

1.
Look at your past 3 skinnys. If you had WARM colors dominant, choose a cool color and create with that! If you used COOL colors to begin with...go warm! If you used both, guess! lol
Not recommended in exercising, but hey we are digital right?

2.
the word cool, yep somewhere, anywhere on your 4th skinny

3. A PHOTO
must be used and made B&W. You can crop this anyway you want.

4. only ONE element (ONE) MUST BE an OPPOSITE dominant color of this week's skinny.

For example:

REQUIRED:
  • Orange is my main color, so I went with blues/purples for my last skinny
  • word cool
  • extracted my mom's cat JET, and made B&W, I then colored his eyes blue...experiment with the b&w it is fun!
  • orange jet it is in the opposite of the blues I used for this skinny
EXTRA
  • I am not the skinny police, I hope you stay in the spirit of the skinny challenge and try to push yourself to create this last one. I want you to LOVE your skinnyS together, so if you have to have leniency to make your creative heARt happy, I grant you it! But, please try to do them, it is for challengeing and helping you learn also! Thank you!

Deadline is March 1st, Wednesday, after my morning coffee. I will compile all those who did ALL 4 skinnies. ONE lucky winner will receive a coupon and lots of congratulations from everyone else. But everyone will have the way cool templates and the experience of doing skinnyS!

I still have to do week 3, but love this Ann! The smaller canvas and directions are wonderful for my scrapping AJ!

BAM!

Hurray!!!

1. Opposite warm/cool from previous weeks (mostly used greens, so this week was warm)
2. The word "cool"
3. A b/w photo (used @AnneofAlamo sticker photo technique from MOC4)
4. 1 element from opposite end of color spectrum - (reddish pink's opposite is green)

@rchansen lol, oh geez louise, that is a definite mixture. I say, just go with ONE warm or cool not a mix, and that ONE element of the opposite will tie it all together! Challenges help us grow !? right? lol

I have A LOT of growing to do in this art journaling world!!

Mine was predominately warm with browns but also cool with blues, so this last week (4) i mixed, leaning half and half again with more highlighting on cool colors. Thanks Anne @AnneofAlamo as usual, I love the skinnys!!

Yeah all done with it! February became an AJ month! Not sure about endresults, but liked playing around with a few more techniques and other elements/mixed media.

Ok...here's mine....

My first 3 skinnies were a bit all over the spectrum so I decided to go with a darker palette for the 4th. Brought in the reddish orange for the element then tied the all the skinnies together with a little repeating. Also used selective coloring for my dog's ball after I desaturated the photo as it was kinda the same red! (she really wasn't too thrilled about the sunglasses my kid put on her tho!)

UGH...I suck at art journaling. I think I might start all over again with my skinnys!! Need to give this some thought. :)

My photo is the trees in the background, which was turned black and white and blended into the paper by using the multiply mode. Simply because I was too lazy to extract it completely ;)
