MOC Guidelines

I might have missed it so apologies if I have with these two questions @mrs2a50

1) if a newish designer (thinking Anita Designs in this case but I’m sure others are newish too) and I am wanting to use a product that wasn’t retired at their previous store but not yet released here, is that ok or not?

2) Along the lines of fonts, do styles & actions etc need to be 100% TLP as well? I highly doubt I’d use anything other than TLP for them but thought I’d check just in case.

1) As long as the product is not currently for sale somewhere else, it's okay to use
2) Since TLP sells a large amount of styles and actions, any used for MOC will follow the same rules as any other product. So yes, they should be 100% TLP.

In my excitement about starting MOC I titled my layouts thread "michelepixels - my 8th MOC." Reviewing the guidelines I see we were told to name our threads "username's layouts." I couldn't find a way to edit it. I'm sorry! Hoping that it's okay because at least I put my username at the beginning appropriately.

*Post has been edited to clarify the use of product from other stores*

Products used for MOC11 should support both the TLP store and TLP designers. For purposes of MOC, product used for your pages must be 100% TLP product - either current or retired by our current designers. IF A PRODUCT IS CURRENTLY SOLD BY A TLP DESIGNER AT A STORE OTHER THAN TLP, IT CANNOT BE USED FOR MOC. If you use product from a designer who sells at TLP and another store, you will need to verify that the product is not currently for sale at the other store. For example, if you use Kit XYZ from Designer Jane, who sells at TLP and Store123, and Kit XYZ is offered at Store123 but NOT at TLP, that kit will not be allowed for MOC. More simply put, you may use products that are currently for sale at TLP, or retired kits from current designers, but you cannot use product that is currently for sale somewhere other than TLP.

I hope this clarifies; if not, let me know!

How would I even know what designers sell at other stores and what stores to look at? That really seems cumbersome to me as a LilyPad customer. Do I really need to track down every designer, to figure out where they might sell, and then check every possible product? At every possible scrap store, for every designer?

Your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product. We define this as current or retired product from designers currently selling a The Lilypad.

Past TLP Collabs are included? Except parts from past designers or those are included as well as part of the Collab?

And BlogHops?

When you open the thread you created, is there a "Thread Tools" under "Reply to Thread?"

In Thread Tools is the option to Edit Title.

Question: I have a paper in my LO that is from the Time Capsule blog hop TLP had a few months ago. Is this acceptable to use?

If you have other stores that you typically purchase at, you can look through their designer line up to see if there are TLP designers that sell there. If there aren't, then you should be good. If there are, then you should confirm where a product is being sold at before you use it. If all of your purchases have been made at TLP, then you should be okay as well.

Can I say I'm glad that the designers I prefer only sell at one store? That will make it a lot easier! But then I only shop at 2 stores and there is no duplication between them :)

At @Pachimac and anyone else curious, you will have no product of mine (unless it's more than 7 years old LOL) that you can't use for MOC.

And if anyone does I have personally let them know (it's literally only a couple of small products that are currently only available elsewhere) :agree

If you mean your blind scrap page for day 1, your credits list looks great!

A little thing that I have found useful over the years is to save my layout as a TIFF or PSD, that way if you need to change something you are not trying to recreate the entire page. With so many people participating the Polly’s can’t always check your page within a day or two. Once MOC is done I delete those files and just keep my flattened ones.

@mrs2a50 collabs with designers outside of TLP, ok or not? Or does it depend on whether the item is still available in the other designers shop.

What about collabs where one designer has since left the store? Can we use elements or papers from those, if they are still for sale in the store here?

I think I have this same question which I have combed through these threads on and don’t see it clarified. So far, my interpretation of the guidelines would be that it is sold at TLP, then it is acceptable. Is that correct @mrs2a50 ?

Other info seems to make clear that retired collabs (between designers, TLP collabs, M3) can be used, but only the parts from designers currently at TLP.

Almost everything I currently use is TLP, but I always find that I'm digging a little deeper during MOC, and I'm happy to have the option for some of favorite retired products.

Apologies to Jennifer and Kelly for missing their earlier questions!

Jennifer - if the collab is still sold here, it can be used. If it is not sold here or the other designer's store, it can be used. If it is NOT sold here, but IS sold at the other designer's store, then it cannot be used.

Kelly and Lisa - if the collab is still sold here at TLP, it can be used. If it is NOT still for sale here, then the parts from the designer who has left cannot be used. As an example - if you have the December 2021 M3 kit, you can use pieces from Lynn, Rachel or Paula. You cannot use the pieces from LBW.

I know its confusing. I hope this clears things up!
