Welcome to Lynn's Scrap an Old Photo Challenge. As many of you can surmise, vintage pics are near and dear to my heart, so I am thrilled to be hosting this February challenge.

Read the instructions carefully as I want to know a little bit more about the photo you are using!
  • Use one old photo. If you can choose the oldest one in your possession, that would be fantastic. The photo must be at least 10 years old. Often times old photos are faded, stained or torn. You may edit your photo or leave it as is to show its age.
  • In your layout, be sure to include the date of the photograph, or at least a circa.
  • In your layout, also include a bit of journaling regarding what the photo is all about, why it is meaningful to you...
  • Use at least 75% of Lynn’s products.
  • Upload your layout to this thread.
  • Please upload to Lynn's gallery at The LilyPad following the gallery posting rules.
  • Link your gallery image to this thread.
  • You have from now until the 28th of February to create your vintage layout.
Here are some sample layouts done by Lynn's creative team for the challenge.

One from me. The layout is clickable with a gallery link to the credits... And FYI, Elaine referenced below is my DH's paternal grandmother.

The photo is from 1914, taken in Seattle, Washington. As the journaling states, I found this photograph in the front of Elaine’s photo album #1. There is no information on it, other than the date & location. Elaine was born in 1900, so she would have been 14 years old at the time. Could it be that she is one of the young ladies in the back row? Regardless, if this was important enough to include in her precious albums, it is important enough for me.

Here is one from @Dady , aka Geraldine, from 1940:

From @flowersgal , from 1958. Can you guess which one is her? :-)

And here is one from @Angela Toucan , from 1973. Angela and her father. :-)

Thanks for the challenge, Marilyn. This is my Great Grand-Uncle, John Wesley Steelman, 1853 ~ 1936. He was my maternal grandfather's Uncle.

Here is my take on this challenge. It was fun to look through the old photos that my Dad scanned and gave to me from my childhood. Hard to choose just one!

thank you for the great challenge, i love to show my old photos ..
this is my great aunt, i love the dress and the hat she wears ..... must be linen and lace ....

I didn't feel like I could write much about just the oldest photo I have -- I haven't even learned their names though they are written down somewhere -- and I'm more compelled by comparing photos than individual photos. These photos, beginning in lower left and going clockwise, show a line of moms and daughters. It just occurred to me today that my great grandmother might have been a documentarian like me. I only have photos from this line of my family tree, my mom, her mom, her mom, etc, and a few from dad's childhood family.
