I was sitting here trying to decide what to talk about and when I looked down and saw my list, it hit me. Let's talk LISTS! Are you a list maker? I am! I have to make lists to keep myself organized. If I don't, I'll forget something.

I have a pad by my computer that lists all the things I need to do when I'm on the computer. I have a grocery list and gift idea list in notes on my phone so I won't forgot something when I'm at the store. I used to make those lists on paper, but then I kept forgetting them at home. I keep a pen and paper pad by my bed so I can jot down thoughts that come to me when I'm trying to go to sleep so I won't forget them and I can actually go to sleep. If I didn't, I'd lie awake trying to remember what I was supposed to remember to add to my list... hehe!

The best part about making lists for me is crossing things off! I'll admit that I've even added something to my list after I've completed it, just so I could cross it off. There's just something so satisfying about crossing things off the list that keeps me motivated to keep going so I can cross more things off. I prefer paper lists to get that feeling of accomplishment. There's nothing better than seeing a whole list of things crossed off!

The other day when I was at the print shop/shipping store they had some to-do list pads there for free. I grabbed one and have been filling it up and crossing things off like crazy. I'm feeling rather accomplished and love that I'm getting so much done. I know it sounds silly but it really is the little things that make life good. And if crossing things of my list, is doing it for me, then that's what I'm gonna do... hehe!

How about you? Are you a list maker? Do you prefer paper or electronic lists? Do you love crossing things off your list?

And just in case you were wondering, here's the list that's on the paper pad by my computer.

1. pad patter
2. email Chase
3. do PTA newsletter
4. yearbook cover
5. reconcile bank statements
6. download Little Mermaid pix
7. work on calendar pages
8. work on Chase's mission scrapbook
9. mail necklaces
10. do more gallery comments
11. work on CT layouts

yes...yes...yes....that's me too! I am a list maker and it has to be paper and pen or eraser board, not digital. I have a big desk calendar that I jot things down on, plus I have a notepad holder on my desk with a paper pad in it with a pen for jotting down things I think of as I do my desk job. Upstairs, I have paper and pen by the fridge for jotting things down and I have another paper pad and pen beside my computer upstairs too. I don't think a day goes by without me jotting down things.

I get so frustrated when I make out my to-do list to take with me when going shopping and then leave it at home....grrrr!

Love lists! Of course, my biggest current list is Christmas gift ideas.

I use Cozi, an online calendar and shopping list, for grocery shopping. It lets me group items by store and I can access it on my phone. No more going to the store and forgetting the list at home! And the best part, the kids have access to it so they can add things and if they happen to go to the store, they can pick up my items too.

Then there is the "Scrap to do" document that sits on my desktop. I load it up with all the challenges I want to try to do this month. I also throw my TLP coupon codes in there, sorted by expiration date.

As soon as I saw this thread I immediately went to today's list to see what I still had to do. Seriously.

I make lists all of the time, but don't use them 95% of the time. I just forget about them, that's all. Then when I find them it's usually: "oops." Hahaha!

exactly! that's why I started putting the grocery list on my phone! I was always calling home to get someone to send a pic of it to me.

I share some of my online lists with my hubby and kids and it's so nice that they can add things to it. However, I haven't been able to get them to do the shopping for me. hmmm... I think that's something I need to add to my list... hehe!

I love your scrap to do list idea! I have a list of photos that need still need scrapped from previous years, but haven't updated it in a long time. I think it was 2015 the last time I updated it. I really should revisit those lists and do some updating.

oh I do this too! The other day I found an old notebook that had some to-do lists in it that I had forgotten about. Luckily, the things I hadn't done weren't serious, so I just added them to my current list... hehe!

Well, when the baby girl (almost 16 - yikes!) convinces the college son that they need ice cream at 1am and they head to Kroger, I figure they can get my stuff too. Especially if they want me to reimburse them for the ice cream.

Other than a grocery list, I am not a list maker. I am also not a planner user. I want to be both... but after countless attempts, I have just concluded that neither are me.

Grocery list is still on paper. I have a pad of paper in the kitchen that I write what I need when I realize it. That pad goes in my purse with my phone on grocery day. I tried keeping it on my phone and IMO, it was too much of a hassle.

This isn't a list like you are referencing but I also now carry a small Mead 5-star notebook in my purse with information for items I want to look for if I happen to go to a store that carries it. Started this during the kitchen remodel when I would see something in a store but wasn't sure if it would fit in the drawer or cabinet I might use it in. I now have that information in this notebook if I need it. Like sometime in the future I want to get area rugs for the living room and dining room (after puppy is house trained) so I have the room measurements written down.

I'm more of a paper user (as you can tell) than digital although I do have a long-range list of things to do now that I am retired using StickyNotes on the computer.

oh good idea about room dimensions and such. I used to carry around a sticky note with the shelf measurements for the playroom closet back when I was looking for bins to put in there. I need to write down the dimensions for some of the bathroom and kitchen drawers and find some new bins for those.

Yes, always have been a list maker! I'm so much like you Kayla - I make grocery lists and often leave them at home or in the car (so I do try to do them electronically often - but sometimes I accidentally delete them while in the store inadvertently - it's tough steering the cart with one hand and holding the phone in the other!) I have notepads by my bed, in the car, and I currently have four lists surrounding me on my desk right now. And then there's my planner with even more lists.

It all started during the remodel. I saw something at Wal-Mart that I thought "might" work in one of my bathroom cabinets but I didn't buy it because I just wasn't sure of the measurements. When I went back to get it, it was gone because my Wal-Mart does not consistently stock the same items. So I started measuring things and writing the sizes down and keeping them in my purse. The other thing I put in there is when I find an item online but want to see it before purchasing. I note the item name and number then when I get to that store, I know I'm looking at the right item. I found a couple things online through Bed Bath & Beyond but want to see them before I buy. Closest store to me is an hour away and I just haven't made it there yet. So the items are in the notebook for when I do get there.

I also have considered new curtains in the bathroom. So the measurements are in there as well in case I run across some that I like and are the right size.

A lot of the places I would have to go to shop are out of town, so this has been a life saver... Less trips to the stores!

lists are my favorite!
I have been known to finish a task and then see darn...it wasn't on the list so I will write it just to cross it off!
I carry a bullet journal with me EVERYwhere...so I have a years worth of lists with me all the time!

I'm an occasional list-maker. And I'm almost entirely digital now. The change has been extremely gradual. Acquiring my first smartphone in 2013 gave that transition a boost, and over the last year I've really started to feel comfortable with it. In fact, for many kinds of lists and notes and even the calendar, I've come to prefer digital.

The grocery list was the easiest to switch to digital. Though I haven't settled on a perfect digital option yet, I happily threw out the paper pad stuck to the fridge years ago. I've tried the apps for my favorite grocery stores and various list apps. Thanks for reminding me of Cozi @BevG . I learned about their website many years ago, before I even had a phone, let alone my kids. I want to check it out again. Is it an app for both android and iPhone?

I do kind of miss the physical action of crossing off, but it hasn't been a stumbling block. If I do want to do something like that, sometimes I'll make the item Bold. That's why my list of pages in my History of Me album I posted in this thread yesterday were bold. I just copied and pasted that from my Notepad app.

I am most definitely a list maker! I have them everywhere! I have tried on many occasions to do it digitally, but it just doesn't work for me. Maybe one day I will find something that does, but until then I'll just have paper everywhere! I do like crossing things off :)

What kind of magical town do you live in where there's a store that gives away something for FREE? And not just "something," but a useful item, like a to-do list pad?!

I love lists. I also just love writing things down. This year I bought the desktop-size At-A-Glance calendar. It makes me happy to see my days planned out and to have space for those "to do" items that come up--like, "schedule C's yearly checkup," "use coupon for XYZ" (I tend to forget I have coupons!), or whatever.

On Cozi, you have two choices - check the box next to each item, which causes it to go lighter and have a strike through line - or just swipe it and it is gone. The advantage of the check box is that the item stays on the list so you can uncheck it when you need to get it again. The swiping removes it completely. And yes, it runs on both platforms as well as the web. You can set up different login ids for each family member but you all use the same password.

You can also create to do lists without years, then every March 1, for example, it reminds you to prune the bushes.
