I think this looks lovely!! Different types of brushes give different types of effects and I think you did great!

I am getting stuck -- I get to the liquify but then when I try rest of the instructions it seems like I can't get it work. I use Photoshop CC. I do love the effect the liquify does on this photo -- would this work?

I have to admit I am a pretty straight vanilla girl when it comes to scrapping

What part are you stuck on exactly? You are basically extracting the subject and making 2 copies of the subject by itself and then hiding the layer that you extracted it from.

I'm not sure what's not working for you, but when I first tried this I got frustrated because it didn't seem to be working for me and then I realized that after I added the masks and went to do the brush work I was not clicking on the mask itself on the layer before using the brush. If that's what's sticking you, I can grab a screen shot to show you what I mean.

Can you help me please? I can't see the liquified layer beneath the top layer with the brush strokes. I'm pretty sure I followed all of the instructions to the tee!

@IntenseMagic I found something that helped. Photoplus doesn't have a liquefy filter, but there is a manual warp tool so I've used that, and had a go. Manual cloning out the subject was complicated, but would have been easier if I had a photo that didn't have a full background. I don't think it's a technique I'll use very often, but it's good to learn something new. I've learnt some new things about my software, and that's always a good thing. Thank you.

I had this trouble, too, when I started playing with this technique. Make sure that when you select the layer with the mask that you click on the mask itself before using the brushes and that your foreground is set to white. I can grab a screen shot if you need one.

Definitely wasn't using the mask itself! IF you have a screen shot, that would be super helpful!

This is not the best, but if you look at that layer you can see that there is a bracket around the mask. Just make sure before you start using the brush that you actually click on the black mask so that bracket is around it. If you haven't clicked on it the bracket would be around the image part. I hope that makes sense haha.

Honestly, I ready to throw in the towel. I will come back to this at some point. But right now it's just to hard for me, which I understand is the point of the challenges, but there needs to be a balance.

Looks great! I use Artisan too and these are the challenges I find the most difficult because I'm not a "player" in the program!

Thank you - I see the brackets - I just can't see the liquified image. I would send you a screenshot but I'm not sure how

DUH! I just realized I had to brush to actually see the liquifying. Sorry for being such a dolt!
