January 30: Travel storytelling Welcome to the second to last day of our Month of Challenges. Congratulations for making it this far, no matter how many pages you have finished. Every page is an achievement! Today we are going to be storytelling about travel. The rules are: Your page must include at least three photos about a vacation, trip or day out. (So don't worry if you don't have any photos of long road trips or other extensive travel: you can scrap a day out in your local area) If you want to include photos taken by someone else, that is fine. If you use pictures from the internet, make sure you are allowed to do so, and that they are of a place you have visited and talk about on your page. It must include a date (can be just the month and year) It must include journaling of at least 75 words about your trip, vacation or day out, not including word art. Your journaling should be in complete sentences to qualify as complete. Word art will not qualify toward your word count. You cannot use the same word over and over. You cannot use the same sentence over and over again. Journaling challenges are meant for telling stories; if your journaling is sensitive or personal, please message me or Julie (mrs2a50) directly to discuss. Your journaling should be legible and readable. If your page is not in English, we ask that you translate your journaling to English and post the translation in your gallery credits. If your journaling has been distressed or your font is too small to read, you should post your journaling in your gallery credits. Again, if your journaling is sensitive and/or personal, please message me or Julie directly to discuss. You can use a template if you wish. Here's a page I made of a trip we just took: And here's a great layout by Iowan: And another by EHStudios: ************************************************************************ To recap the rules for all MOC pages: Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places: Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers). I can't wait to see your pages!
Do we have to use our own photographs or can we find pics online? I lost all mine that might pertain to a trip, and honestly, I won't be having a day out any time soon to take new ones. And if we can't, suggested work-arounds?
Woo! Oh yeah, oh yeah! Whoop whoop whoop! Some of the challenges have really thrown me for a loop (in a good way, though). I've got this one, LOL!
Word count said 110 words. When Scott was younger we took him to a fish boil in Door County. A lady standing next to us said, “Don’t worry you’ll be safe.” That’s when we started to worry. It was so much fun and the flames got so high. This year we went to Door County with Scott and Tia. I honestly think the flames were higher. It is amazing how the fire burns the oil away and the fish tastes so scrumptious. When I asked Scott and Tia what they enjoyed most on our trip to Door County they said the fish boil. The other nice part was the Door County cherry pie for dessert.
Thankyou for a good challenge to help us come close to the end of MOC. As I have shared in the gallery my travel story is from earlier this month when we visited my sister-in-law and her husband who is dying of asbestosis.
