Hi! We are heading into the home stretch for MOC 13. I hope you are having fun, getting some pages done, maybe learning something new, or stretching out of your comfort zone a bit. In the spirit of moving into our next chapter, for this challenge we’ll have a bit of a reflective look back at the past 13 years.

This is a journaling challenge For this challenge, take a few moments and reflect on what were you doing 13 years ago, what were you like, what was life like back in 2013? Where were you? It feels like forever ago and several lifetimes for me. How have those changes in your routine, habits, and/or environment shaped you?

You can explore this question and take it in many different directions. Use photos, or not. You can make this a deep exploration, or keep it more surface level. It is up to you as to how you answer the question of how you have changed over these past 13 years. Your journaling should include a minimum of 5 sentences of how you’ve changed over this time. Photos are optional.

To be honest, I wrote volumes before whittling away to focus on the primary events that resulted in changes in me these last years.

Here is my sample layout:
I used Hear My Voice 09 Changing Collection from Rachel Jefferies & Lynn Grieveson and
Lived In Time Stamps & Titles from Rachel Jefferies for my page

Here are a few jumping off points to consider in framing how you might approach this:
  • What was work like 13 years ago, what changes have you experienced through those years?
  • How has your family changed?
  • Perhaps you have added pets to your life
  • What hobbies did you enjoy then; are they still your favorites? Or maybe you’ve added or switched entirely.
  • Perhaps you have gone through some physical changes over these years (graying hair anyone?)
  • How has your scrapping style and/or process changed?
  • Have you moved location or remained in the same community?
  • How has your environment changed over the years, still rural? Or have you experienced a growth explosion?
There is no specific word requirement; but please provide a minimum of five (5) complete sentences.

The requirements for this challenge are
  1. Create a layout that documents how you changed over the last 13 years.
  2. Your journaling should be a minimum of 5 complete sentences.
Your journaling should be in complete sentences to qualify as complete. Word art will not qualify toward your word count. You cannot use the same word over and over. You cannot use the same sentence over and over again. Journaling challenges are meant for telling stories; if your journaling is sensitive or personal, please message me or Christa (cfile) or Heather (HeatherB) directly to discuss.

Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places:
  1. Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site).
  2. Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean.
  3. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish.
Please use the Copy GALLERY BB code found on the right side of the gallery when posting your pages to the MOC Layouts Folder thread and to this challenge thread.

Thank you for the challenge.
The last thirteen years have been full of moments that shaped me and quietly changed who I am. I have grown older, but also calmer. I listen to myself more now. I no longer feel the need to please everyone. Three years ago, my husband and I made a long-held dream come true. We found a home in my homeland, the Palatinate. We moved and chose a life in the countryside. Surrounded by nature and silence, we learned to slow down. Today, we live each day more consciously. And we are happier than ever before.
