Journaling:
Thirteen years ago was the year 2013.
The year before my mother had died
which meant there was no need for Ken
and I to stay living in Toowoomba where
we had lived in the same home for 21 years.
It was time to follow our dream of living in
a smaller country town. My daughter was
settled living in Byron Bay in the next state.
So we found a lovely smaller home than
what we had been living in situated in a
small town just over 1 hour drive from my
daughter. It was good to live closer as we
have some wonderful memories of time
with the grandchildren. We enjoyed living
in a small town and a bonus was only 25
minutes drive to a lovely beach. We enjoyed
the different things we did and the many
people whose lives touched us and we in
return touched theirs. But in 2022 a
massive flood caused us to pack up and
leave that life behind and start
new in another slightly larger
town back in the State where
I was born. We are settled
happily where we are but at
times I miss that river where we
lived before even though it was
the cause of us leaving.
