January 21 | Kit Connections Welcome to day 21 of MOC 12! We all have that one kit (or let's be honest....more than one!) that we absolutely love and adore from the store for any number of reasons? If yes, then I'm excited to share my first ever challenge as a Polly!. The challenge for you is to scrap a new layout for MOC using ONE TLP kit that you absolutely love and want to scrap with and explain the connection to the kit in your forum post and gallery upload. Templates, fonts and any styles are in addition to the one kit if you wish to use them. For this challenge......connection to a kit can be one or more of many things. Examples could be Connection to the theme Connection to a color or color scheme Connection to your fave photo you absolutely must scrap Connection to your a story you must tell At any given time I can be drawn to a kit in the shop for any of the above reasons Example: I connected with Mundane | Collection by Dunia Designs & Kim B. Designs because it accurately depicted the mundaneness of the day....I so did not feel bright and colorful that day! Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places: Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. Your page must contain Lilypad product (pages with photos and font only do not count). Product from other stores will not be allowed for MOC; your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product (current or retired product from designers or guest designers presently selling at The Lilypad). Please note: I am often not on during the day until after 6pm EST due to timezone differences/fatigue levels earlier in the day but if you have any questions please tag me (@littlekiwi) and I will answer them ASAP
Reserved for questions As per the Month of Challenges guidelines Absolutely! If anyone is struggling here is a great tip: I once was there too. The key I think, is to pick a big kit/collection like a store Collab, collection from NBK Designs, Bella Gypsy or like you have Just Jaimee just to name a few. My love of Just Jaimee & newer love of Bella Gypsy is kind of where this challenge originated from. If it's part of a kit and you are only using the element pack then I'm fine with it. My only question beyond that would be regarding your background. As long as your background isn't from another product then I'm ok with it. Question from @Angela Toucan (sent in PM) Can I use Artful Starters by Lynn Grieveson (the staples & stitches are in the template) Absolutely, that's still within the spirit of the challenge
I love this challenge. I connect with this kit, it's bright, happy, summery colour pallet makes me happy. Just Jaimee's Frolic Storyteller has so much, lovely alphas, wonderful paints, a colour pallet that includes my favourite blues and pink, golden yellow. Even though it's a snow kit and I am in the middle of summer, it still works!
With me living here in Australia, I have used Lynn Grieveson's Among the Gum Trees more than once. This is possibly the third time I have used it. Therefore I do have a connection to this kit and would love Lynn to create more kits like this one.... pretty please @LynnG
“Nordland” by Lynn Grieveson is one of my favorite kits. I downloaded it 8 years ago this month. I love the soft colors and the outdoorsy elements that can set off beautiful pics such as these two from one of my favorite places: the Grand Tetons.
thank you for the challenge Choosing a kit is a challenge in itself. I chose Nicole's STRENGTH OF A WOMAN because it is a very expressive and touching collection. The fact that women in the 21st century are still considered second-class citizens is an absolute no-go and incomprehensible to me.
I know what you mean, it's an almost impossible task! There are probably about a hundred different ways you could approach this and they'd all be "right" for your viewpoint
Thanks for hosting Jennifer. Here is my page.. I used the HMV19 Renewing by Lynn Grieveson and Rachel Jefferies as the browns and mauvy purples match so well with my coffee photo. Everything blends easily together too with different blend modes in PS CC!
I am drawn to Lynn Grievesons "Within" because of the empowerment character and knew I had to do a layout with this Wordart!
Thanks for this challenge! Today i'm tired of this winter, i want sunshine, warm days, blue skies.....so this kit is perfect for this!
Thank you Jennifer for this challenge ! I used this kit because the colours matched my photos perfectly ! I love Lynn and Rachel's Heart My Voice kits and more, especially the latest Renewing, it has all the colours I love and goes so well with my photos !
I love how this kit is so clean with pretty colors. i use it for my husband, my kids and my pets and even friends
Just a reminder please put the reason you connect to the kit in both the forum post in this thread and the gallery. @katell @Dady @nfenchak
I chose Lynn Grieveson's kit Be Gentle because I really need this right now, I love this kit and am feeling fragile. I must be Italian. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/day-21-kit-connections-be-gentle.559462/
I love sunflowers, and any kit that has sunflowers in it, I'm drawn to. For the kit I chose by Nicole, I love even the title "Shine Like a Sunflower". Plus it had August word art in it, my birthday month. My extracted photo is the one at the top. My SIL grows them, I don't. But I should... P.S. I am also a fan of winter, but this arctic air we have had for over a week can go away anytime. The sooner the better...
This was super easy for me. I'm instantly always drawn to Project Mouse because I have so many Disney pages to scrap. I've used them many times for non-Disney pages too. But in the spirit of the challenge, I knew I needed to just choose one, so I started with the beginning - the OG Project Mouse Project Mouse: Papers Project Mouse: Embellishments Project Mouse: Plannning
I love the colors in this kit and how the art doll reminds me so much of my beautiful granddaughter. I have used it often to scrap her photos or to art journal without a photo.
Is anyone really surprised that the kit I have the most connection to is Lunar Rainbow by Studio Liv? It's the kit that made me apply for her CT, the kit I use in some capacity with almost every Milky Way/stargazing layout I make, and the kit that I am constantly teasing her about needing another layout for. I am OBSESSED.
I was attracted to the kit I'm Somewhere Inbetween | The Complete Mixed Media Collection by Rachel Jefferies because its colour palette and set of elements perfectly match the spirit and character of the man. So when I want to make a digital gift for men I know or for my friends' sons, I choose this kit. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/moc_12_day_21_enough.559482/
