January 2: Photography challenge {shallow depth of field}

Everyones DOF pages are awesome. Mine doesn’t transcribe so well cropped in a slide frame. Might have to re-do me thinks but this is using the Iris Blur technique.

I used the portrait mode on my iPhone... mixed results... this was the best one. You can see the furnace repair guy's tool box in the background! LOL

I originally made my page with photos I had taken about 7 hours before the challenge was posted. I thought these counted as "new." Since there seems to be some confusion, I have taken a new photo today and replaced one of the originally photos with a newer. I hope that is adequate to follow the rules.

The original photo is still showing here, but if you click through the newer photo shows.

Okay, I'm still confused -- does NEW mean taken 1/2/19 or not posted prior? Anyway, I did this of a pic I took at a restaurant in mid December. If doesn't fit criteria and has to be of today, I'll try and get one tomorrow???

I took a macro with my old camera, and eventually managed to get one where my hand was steady enough for the foreground to be in focus, LOL. You may have to zoom in to see the background blur.

Just had to comment on what rockstars ya'll are to have gone and taken a brand new photo since the challenge was posted AND scrapped it. It's pouring rain here (and off and on freezing rain)... and even just to get out the camera and take a "brand new" photo today is a challenge. I have lots of new photos from the last few days and christmas but if I am understanding right, they aren't usable.

Paislee Press - You are my fave no. 7.
My son begged me today not to put the tree away (I said it could wait until tomorrow) and I'm glad he did so I could get this quick shot, taken with my phone, got up close to the ornament and made sure there was a big enough gap between it and the candle behind to give a shallow depth of field. It's gone 8pm here in the UK though I had to make do (I have a multi-whites light bulb though and kicking myself for not changing it to the daylight setting!) The ornament was painted by my son :) I still need to put the year on the bottom before I put it away!

Created for Challenge 2 photography taken today with a very unwilling subject using my Nikon ;P

Great Challenge!...It's Freezing Here!...Minus 23 Degrees Yesterday & Minus 16 Today!...Brrrr!...But Persevere I Must...I Really Don't like The Cold At All But I Do Love Winter Pics...Go Figure...Either Way...I Ventured Out To Take A Specific Photo...I Knew I Wanted To Take The Tree Branch That Was Longer & Coming More Forward...I Like How It Looked...With The Focus On The Long Hanging Branch & The Rest Of The Photo Behind Blurred Out...

LOVED this challenge!!! I got the depth of field look by taking a photo in the "focus" setting in Instagram stories and then saving it. :photo
