loved this Ashley! and loved all of you who used a nice big photo for this page ... i was inspired by so many of you in this thread.
Thanks Ashley. My photos on the left are the ones that are bigger, and then cropped. The other is just to show more detail in the surroundings. Journaling too!
here's mine - it took me a while to find a pic too; i crop out a lot of mess at home and i avoid cropping travel and outdoor shots to keep the scenery and sense of place
This is a really interesting challenge, Ashley! I learned the opposite of the intention of this challenge - I need to crop more! I love filling up my photo with background. I think of the background as part of the story, and I make sure to include it in the composition. I rarely crop my own photos to focus on a certain detail! For this challenge I used two different photos taken from the same day & the same experience. This is the story of how I found an apple orchard 15 minutes from my house (that I never knew was there in the 20+ years that we've lived here) all because I wanted to see apple blossoms. I included a photo of the orchard & a cropped close-up of the blossoms. I hope this is OK! I'm thinking this challenge is a lot easier if you have children!
