JANUARY 18: Telling a Story Through Photos

Finally did this challenge! I had a difficult time finding a photo that would work.

I found it really difficult to find a picture that I left some of the background in...

loved this Ashley! and loved all of you who used a nice big photo for this page ... i was inspired by so many of you in this thread. :)

Thanks Ashley.

My photos on the left are the ones that are bigger, and then cropped. The other is just to show more detail in the surroundings. Journaling too! :)

here's mine - it took me a while to find a pic too; i crop out a lot of mess at home and i avoid cropping travel and outdoor shots to keep the scenery and sense of place

This is a really interesting challenge, Ashley! I learned the opposite of the intention of this challenge - I need to crop more! I love filling up my photo with background. I think of the background as part of the story, and I make sure to include it in the composition. I rarely crop my own photos to focus on a certain detail!

For this challenge I used two different photos taken from the same day & the same experience. This is the story of how I found an apple orchard 15 minutes from my house (that I never knew was there in the 20+ years that we've lived here) all because I wanted to see apple blossoms. I included a photo of the orchard & a cropped close-up of the blossoms. I hope this is OK!

I'm thinking this challenge is a lot easier if you have children!
