January 18: Recipe (Random Challenge)

My shape is a heart.
I'm not pleased with the way this one turned out. I need to start all over on it, but I'll leave it as it is! Thanks for making it an easy challenge! I hate recipe challenges, but this one was easy. Whew!

Thanks for the fun chat Kayla & Helpful answers! Here is my layout:

@keepscrappin - would you consider hearts as shapes? Or does it need to only be the shapes you mentioned in your opening post?

Sorry I've been hosting a speed scrap, but yes you CAN use hearts as your shape. I'll take most any shape just as long as I know it's your shape. Make sure you don't count your heart shapes with the 3 or more elements in step 6. You need 1 shape, plus you need 3 or more elements. Hope that makes sense and answers your question.

1. Solid background - light blue textured paper
2. 1 Big Photo - photo of statue
3. 1 or more shapes of your choice - corner quarter circles filled with plaid paper
4. 1 or more word arts - word strip: "Look at This"; title: Freedom
5. 1 scatter - stars
6. 3 or more elements - starburst, birds, journal card
7. Shadow, journal, date and/or title BUT NOTHING ELSE - shadows, journaling and date on journal card, title (also counting as word art - see #4)

I was a little confused by the instructions. It says you can add 3 or more elements, but in the last step it says you can have title, journaling but "nothing else." I'm not really sure what "nothing else" refers to if you can have as many elements as you want.

Sorry for the confusion Tiff. The nothing else just means add whatever you want of those finishing touches and be done.

l solid paper (background); 1 big photo (to cover at least 1/2 of page); 1 or more shapes (used 3 hearts); 1 word art (Remember the Moment -- also serves as title); 1 scatter; 3 or more elements (2 flowers, 1 bow, a piece of lace, 1 paper strip); Finishing - added journaling and a date.

This might be my very first monochromatic beige page (or anything, quite frankly). And spare, too, which is certainly not what I planned, but the muse had different ideas.

And Hey! I figured out that I wasn't actually linking these posts to the gallery page—my apologies to everyone who wanted to kick me in the shin for making things more difficult :-D

As per instructions:
1. Solid background
2. Large picture (2160 x 3600)
3. Scallop shapes (lace banner at the top)
4. Word Art
5. Scatter (pearls)
6. Three elements (bird, lace under the pearls, piece of wood under the word art)
7. Shadowing
