January 10: Clean and Simple (Style Challenge)

Yay! One of my faves! However, I'm still behind from yesterday and I have such a hard time going out of order. :giggle

So, I'll do it, just for you!

Are masks allowed or do they come under paint?

Masks can count as an element as long as it is "clean". Like straight lines. Most masks are "messy" and have a paint feel to them, however, and those wouldn't count. The idea is for the page to be clean and simple. Does that make sense?

jenevang, Does this pass all the requirements? It's the most simple, plain I've ever done. Let me know if I need to change anything. I've been wanting to do something special with this photo but didn't know what.
I can't say it all in the journalling, so I'll just tell you here! When I got that first beautiful much wanted baby 18 years ago, who grew into a gorgeous 'picture perfect' blonde, blue eyed, incredibly smart little boy with a cheeky grin, I NEVER imagined the teenage years of hell on earth that awaited, his battling debilitating depression, a critically high anxiety disorder, school avoidance, days and weeks of sleeping all day, awake all night, but a dogged determination to complete school to Year 12. Hundreds of doctors and specialists appointments, countless doctors' certificates for missed school days, assessments and exams. And that HAIR!!! (In Australian schools you have to be clean shaven, his awesome school turned a blind eye!) But somehow, through the sheer love of a determined mum and an equally determined son, we, he did it! This photo was taken on his last day of Year 12 in his school uniform, ever! Thank you God, that we made it through!

Ok thank you :)

But I love the simplicity of the page and how it really kept the focus on the photo and memory.
I have to agree with you on this, I feel the same. So, even though this is so not my kind of scrapbooking, I too love the focus on the photo and the memory. He rarely lets me take photos of him, but someone else took this one and sent it to me! So grateful! :)

No paint?! *dying inside*
The minimalist challenges are always a stretch for me but that's what MOC is all about!
Me too. But this challenge often ends up being one of my faves each year.

Can’t wait to get home from work later and get this one done.
