Jan. 16: Using Paint/Brushes as a Mask (Technique Challenge)

i left the picture behind the paint, as it gives it a special look

I masked a photo of my Mom on the Xray table and actually love the subtle effect. I know what I am looking at, but it feels like her privacy is also respected.

I don't really like this page. too grungy for my taste, but only 1 picture in the mask effect looked odd, so I had to do them all. I don't know, maybe it'll grow on me!

Wow, it turns out the hardest thing about the paint is to put it down :) I was just "splashing" more on, until I thought, I can't see the original paint mask any more, :) So I went back a few steps, and here we are. That was fun, thank you, @wendy85

Thanks so much for this, I enjoyed it. I use masks a fair bit, but usually shapes that are intended as masks in the first place , or shapes I have made myself on purpose , so using paint was extra fun.
In the CraftArtist program it is easy to use normal masks, but I wanted to experiment a bit, and this happened, I an really happy with the effect, so I left it as is.
