In Real Life...

I have been blessed to meet up with three fantastic friends from other scrapbooking sites. That was
10 years ago and we are still friends today! One lady I became good friends with on site opened up her house to me when I went to Mississippi to volunteer after hurricane Katrina. I stayed with the family for a month and we had such a wonderful time. I needed a place like that because every day I had to go out and face the tragedy that surrounded us.

I met up with one of my online paper scrapping friends - we were on a couple of design teams together. We had our holiday in New Zealand so we drove past her town and met up. My husband thought it was a bit weird and that it would be awkward but it was like catching up with an old friend. Very easy and fun!

My goal is to get to brisbane and catch up with @amandac one day soon!

I'm not sure that there are many digi scrappers in the city of Chicago. I know there are a few in the suburbs though. @lulyg14 did come over to my house about a year ago... we need to do that again! I got to meet a lot of digi scrappers in real life when CHA was here in Chicago and the year I went to CHA in California with Memory Makers Magazine.

One good thing about living in the city here is that quite a few people end up coming here for either business or fun, so I try to get together with them when they do. Mostly that's been friends from the photography board at Two Peas. I can't believe our group has been together for so long! Several of us lived in the Dallas area (we were living in Allen, TX at the time) and would meet up for a monthly photography playdate. Our kids were all preschool age, so they would play while we chatted cameras and took pictures! Now most of our kids are in high school or will be going next year!

There will be noone around me, closest I think would be @amandac and thats a 3 hour or so plane ride to a different country.

I have met so many people from the online world, and had such an amazing time with them!!!
I had been trying to get a Lilypad European meet but for some reason it ends up not being organized.... now my daughter is going to Uni for 2 years in October so money is tight, but I may manage to make it anyway, lets hope....
If I could go to the USA...oh that would be a dream!!!
Would go from coast to coast stopping in every state!!!!

I'm far away, lol! It's so cool to meet the people that live in your computer. Last time though, I was on the shy side, and I think I should have been more "me" when I met some of my scrappy friends.
This is me too. But it didn't help that I met people with both kids and DH and DS was still a baby. I think my pregnancy hormones were still affecting me lol.

Way too far from you, but it would be cool to meet up with some other online friends!

Like @jk703 we met at a convention several years ago along with @gonewiththewind, @tpbuffy, @greenmother, @Tiff ...and a few others! At the second convention we went @tpbuffy, @greenmother and I stayed up late scrapping. It totally made me wish I had friends who were close who could come over for late night scraps.

@AmandaJ doesn't live too far from me. We met up at a church scrapbook day last year? We should totally do that again!

Anyone live near Western North Carolina/North Georgia/Eastern Tennessee?

@lmccandless would you be okay with me, or someone, getting us set up on zee maps or something?! Seems like it could be something super fun for different communities and traveling members!

I have no idea what zee maps is! LOL *ducks head* But I am fine with you setting it up as long as it's a voluntary opt-in. :)

I am only a 2-3 hour drive from most beaches though.

That's closer than where I'm at now!

I'm trying to convince DH that your corner is a good corner for us to move to next. It helps when I show him photos of a mild winter when it's freezing here!

I actually got on a train a few years ago and rode to NYC to meet up with 6 of my scrapping friends. I had only met one IRL just a few weeks prior to that. We had a fun weekend doing touristy things, and taking tons of photos. Then we pooled all the photos together and made one big scrapbook.

I spent today with another scrapping friend that I met 5 years ago on an Alaskan Cruise. We both started out by taking pictures for each other, then discovered that we were both scrapbookers. We now see each other every time we visit Florida.

And I'm meeting up with another scrapping friend for the first time on Saturday while I'm here in Florida on vacation. She lives about an hour north of where I'm staying, and she's staying nearby for the weekend. So the plans are to meet for dinner and then walk on the beach and watch the sunset.
