Last night I met up with a couple girls I have met online in different FB groups and forums. SO FUN to meet these people IRL!! Hoping to get together every couple months. Anyone else live in the Twin Cities area that might be interested in meeting up...the more the merrier. :)

I think we should start a map thing. I saw it on another forum... but really I first saw it on the Teal Pumpkin Project last October - it allows each of us to put our little dot on the map, so we can see who's around us. I think it'd be cool to do more meet ups... but I'll be honest, I know of a couple people here in my area, and even though I've known of them, never met any of them in person.

I'm far away, lol! It's so cool to meet the people that live in your computer. Last time though, I was on the shy side, and I think I should have been more "me" when I met some of my scrappy friends.

Oooh!! Who were they? Did you get a picture??? I wanna see!!!!

Yes! This! It's so awkward meeting new friends!! What if they don't like you? What if they think you are weird? What if you say something stupid??? Worst case, just start showing them scrapbook pages!!! <3

Totally, Kimberly. @enjoyyourpix I tried to open up, but it/I was weird. I'm sure I wasn't completely like my online personality, but it's just how I am. I'm shy in real life, worried I will offend someone, and definitely weird, until I get to know you... then I'm way relaxed and "normal." Plus, being in my computer is safer, :giggle I'm so easily intimidated at first.

There were loads of people that I got to meet at the SO Digiscrapalooza, Cheryl @gonewiththewind as one, @Scrapping with Liz was another! It was really awesome!!!!

I'd love to head out to Cali... I could meet you and sneak a visit with Carrie too! @carrie1977 There would be so many people I'd want to meet!

Plus, I'm so close to a few scrappers - @ForeverJoy and a couple others in the northeast that I'd love to meet up with them too!

That sounds so cool!

I was soooo close to meeting Just Jaimee in Paris over spring break because she was there at the same time. We were going to meet up at the Palace in Versailles, but my daughter ended up with a migraine and we couldn't make it. :( I was totally bummed and my daughter felt horrible about it.

I'm still trying to find a good time to meet @dvhoward for coffee! Life has been crazy, but it would be neat to get together now that things seem to be calming down a bit. :)

Well one was my best friend...she's not on here but I invited her to come along and hopefully inspire her to start scrapbooking again...and it worked!! I'm a huge fan of @grantandlaurensmom and we have talked online for quite awhile. I don't think the other one is on here. We did get a picture...I'll make a page!! :)

I love it! How fun for you!

I have Digi Night Out this Saturday. :yesss Basically, a bunch of Digi scrappers rent a hotel conference room, and hang out. Some scrapping gets done, but a lot more chatting :blahblah and socializing! We do it every other month, and I love it! It's great to get out for a girls night, and if I'm struggling with something in Adobe, I can ask and usually someone will know!

Please post it here or in a new thread!! I love seeing the real-life meet ups!

Where are you in Utah? I've done this a few times with some traditionally ladies. Usually I'd go to crops at my CM consultant's house but now I don't because I feel bad making pages that don't use products she sells. Then again they don't do digi anymore....

@Iowan (Carol) and I have gotten together twice and each time was so delightful. To others around us we must sound like we're talking in code. Carol, we should descend on @scrapsandsass (Kimberlee) for coffee.

Remind me, where are all of you? Carol moved to WA, right?

@jk703 I definitely want to meet up with you and @ForeverJoy next time I make it out to NYC. I have another great scrapbook friend in NJ (Valerie, not on the forum) who I just need to meet IRL. We both have the same camera now so we need to meet and go on an adventure.

I've met two other wonderful ladies who I now consider close friends. In fact, both have been out to California twice and the second time they came they stayed here at the house with me. It was fantastic.

I'm in Salt Lake city. We alternate between South Jordan, and Lehi.

I'm going to be out there in June 11-18. We are staying at the Fairfield Inn in Draper. I'm not sure the speech tournament schedule, but hopefully ... maybe ... we can meet while I'm there??? :)

I've done this with women from another forum and with other people I've 'met' on line. Best of all was a group of us who remodeled our kitchens and then went to Indiana for a Canning Camp! I haven't done canning lately but gosh it was fun. I also met a semi-pro photographer in NM last September who used to live where I live in England. We bonded over her great sheep images!

@rchansen Uh...the Twin Cities is a bit of a drive for me...from Maryland! :bananaBut besides you, I'd love to meet designer Cathy Zielske there because I love her wit. A good smartypants.
