I'm soooo angry and frustrated right now

Jennifer, let me know if you need anything else from TLP. I sent all the downloads you requested. Hopefully, you are almost back to normal. :)

Thanks Laura, I have seen the links and will download in the morning. I've had to do a bit of a forced purge as I had too much to transfer via my 250gb ehd. In hindsight its probably a good thing cause the type of scrapping I do has changed and I hadnt done a real good purge in a couple of years.

Not sure if this is the same problem, but when I was moving my files to my new computer I found that if a transfer took too long, the system stopped it prematurely. Not sure why. I tried transferring my entire digi art folder and it said it would take three hours, but 30 minutes later it was 'finished' when I checked only part of my files had actually been moved. Thankfully I was 'copying' so i finished in smaller batches without a problem.

If you were cutting them it is possible the Win8 ended the transfer and the remaining ones were lost.

Also, Win 8 does have a different file system than my Win 7 had it took me a while to realize that the files I was looking for were in a slightly different folder.

Are you going to the "User/app data" folder to find your adobe files? Mine stores all of my personal modifications there instead of the main Adobe folder.

You can try searching the entire C or D drives, depending on what brand of computer. (Some manufactures partition the drives and segregate operating system) start at the root and search for *.abr for brushes, but most likely you lost them in the transfer or in the restore. When you transfer a large number of files in win 8 it appears as though the transfer is complete, but it's really not. I lost a bunch of files this way, also moving to a new laptop. Now I backup all the zip files I download to an external drive right away, and if I have to move a large number of files I leave my compute on until I open those files from the new location.

glad you were able to recover most stuff though.
