They just said on the radio that it's THIRTY years since this song was released! How is that possible!!!
I wonder if you ever get used to the fact that the life just fly by.

Definitely cannot get used to it! When I think back to our lives milestones, some of them are so long ago. It doesn't feel that long ago to me, lol!

Not familiar with that song ... but I'm shocked at how fast the years fly by. I guess that old saying ... "the days are long, but the years are short" ... is true.

What I do find fun though is that my grandkids and a whole lot of people still love Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond which was released way back in May of 1969. The song always takes me back to the summer of '69 and taking "behind the wheel driver's ed" ... seems like it was always on the car radio. :)

Time is just flying by way too fast for me! I wish I could pause time and enjoy life more.

Wasn't Take That big in the US? Best boy band ever.

I'm not familiar with this band, but this song was a hit in the US! They must've been one hit wonders here. I've started hearing songs from my teen years on the oldies radio station - it's distressing!

It's like Netflix's "classic movies". I thought it would be oldies, and the it turned out to be my favorite movies from the 90s. LOL

This song sounds familiar. Time does fly, 30 years sounds so long ago but it doesn't feel like it.

Nope you never do....sobering thought for me at least, it's 20 years in December since I officially finished high school (I went back for an extra year because I'd missed significant time due to surgery....a decision I regretted down the track to do the extra year). It's also 10 years in November that I finished my degree at university.

I saw a video today of a father asking his daughter to repeat something she had said -- she had a DIGITAL camera in her hands and called it a vintage camera. :D I also am amused by the professor who posted a text from one of his students asking if there was a cut-off on the age of citations because the student had a cite they wanted to use from "the late 1900s" (it was 1998). :giggle Time is definitely flying by and I'm feeeling it.

Oh my gosh!! I loved that song and haven't thought about it in so long!! Thanks for that memory!! Wow!
Nope, never get used to it and it seems to go faster every year.

Everyone in my family (even the littlest ones) and probably 99.9% of West Virginia, young and old, knows and loves Sweet Caroline because they play it at every WVU football game...with an extra little line in there that's a dig at Pitt and not so nice LOL.

I feel like they were better than Boyzone (Ronan Keating & co) but on similar high rotation on the radio here (Aust) but Five was better than both of them lol ( I'm pretty sure they were British too, did you have them?)

In some ways, pop culture people from back then now make me feel older, because they look younger than back then if they went down the path of Botox etc & probably Photoshop etc totally changed how aging publicly works and I think stuffs up the 'timeline' when we think back to the songs or movies we know them for.

I remember Five, but they were later, and I was tired of boy bands. Take That is really the only boy band I liked. I was too old for it really. 30 years ago I was 28 ... way too old for boy bands. LOL But Take That really could sing.

It's funny you say this because I just heard one of my old favorite songs from the 80s on the radio this morning and when I looked down it was an Oldies station. {gasp} :giggle
