Hi everyone,

I am just blown away by the talent and amazing layouts in the gallery! WOW! I'd love to know more about all of you, and how you scrap. So, for anyone willing to indulge me, here are 10 questions:

How long have you been scrapping?
Did you paper scrap first?
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start?
Did you take classes or teach yourself?
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that?
How often do you scrap?
How much time do you typically spend on a layout?
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest?
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration?
What is your favorite thing about scrapping?

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? :thumbsups

Thank you!

This looks fun...
How long have you been scrapping?
Since 2005 when my boy turned one.
Did you paper scrap first?
most definitely! I still do from time to time.
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start?
I made my sons first Birthday cards and was hooked.
Did you take classes or teach yourself?
Self Taught! :) I don't work well with other people telling me what to do. haha
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that?
I have been on TONS of fabulous teams over the years. I think my first team was probably in 2007. I couldn't tell you who. I have a bad memory. :P
How often do you scrap?
Every night before bed usually. Sometimes while the girls are napping, too.
How much time do you typically spend on a layout?
About 30 min to an hour.
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping?
Choosing what to use. So many of my favorite designers make the most beautiful things and I hate to leave anything out.
The easiest?
Nothing is really easy since I over think everything. Maybe choosing photos to use?
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jump start your inspiration?
Definitely the gallery here. I love all the different options/styles there are to look at.
What is your favorite thing about scrapping?
Me Time!!!

(I love your gallery, too. I actually re-stacked one of your pages today. lol)

How long have you been scrapping?
I began digiscrapping in 2009
Did you paper scrap first?
Yes, I kept a old time newspaper clippings, photos, and memorabilia scrapbook in college, I began what we think of as the hobby of scrapbooking in 2002.
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? I made a 1st year scrapbook of my daughter for my parents and another one for my in laws.
Did you take classes or teach yourself? I spent as much time as I could learning whatever I could. I took a couple of classes at the LSS and read all sorts of magazines and web articles. When it came to digi scrapping I just looked for as many tutorials as I could find.
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? I was on a paper scrapping site's design team around 2003 or so until I started working outside the home again, when I started digiscrapping I got my first CT gig a few months after I started in 2009. I love being on CTs and know I wouldn't get near as much scrapbooking done without them.
How often do you scrap? Daily
How much time do you typically spend on a layout? Usually 1-2 hours.
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The title. I don't know why but I always struggle. The easiest? Journaling. I love to talk.
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? Honestly I'm mostly inspired by my own stories and photos and the product. However, I do love to browse the galleries and I absolutely adore working with sketches.
What is your favorite thing about scrapping? There are so many things I love about it. I love that I get to tell my stories. I love that it's therapeutic for me. I love the pretty papers and embellishments. I just adore this hobby of mine!

How long have you been scrapping?
Since 1999
Did you paper scrap first?
Yep, started out with Creative memories back in the day and then got into the really dimensional, fussy cutting stuff
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start?
I was inspired by my moms old black and white photos and their stories. Ali edwards is my guru.
Did you take classes or teach yourself?
taught myself
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that?
I was on a CT in my paper scrapping days, then I went digi in 2009. Taught myself that mostly too. I started Cting in 2011
How often do you scrap?
Every single day for sure
How much time do you typically spend on a layout?
about 1/2 hour to 45 min
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping?
using a lot of patterned paper
The easiest?
Journaling
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration?
online galleries and my pictures themselves
What is your favorite thing about scrapping?
It relaxes me. i love getting the stories out of my head

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP?
I found Sahlin Studios and fell in love with her paper like supplies. Followed her path here and fell in love again!!

How long have you been scrapping? since 2006 (but in the earlier years, I did more looking and studying than actually scrapping...I regret that)

Did you paper scrap first? nope

What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? when my twins were born, a friend gave me a premade album, but only for one of them, but I was helpless with putting something together myself. I began researching and found digi-scrapping.

Did you take classes or teach yourself? a little of both. I took a video class to get started because I had no clue what to do when I opened PSE for the first time and didn't open it again until 6 months later. After some video lessons and reading some tutorials I was set to go.

If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? I just started CTing. I'm on one permanent team and have been a guest on some others.

How often do you scrap? as often as I can throughout the week.

How much time do you typically spend on a layout? about an hour

What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? Getting started is the hardest. Easiest is journaling and titles.

Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? Challenges are always inspirational for me and looking through the beautiful galleries here.

What is your favorite thing about scrapping? Preserving our memories and being creative.

How long have you been scrapping?
Digiscrapping since March 2005 (had to go check!)

Did you paper scrap first?
Yes. I started that probably around 2003?

What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start?
I can't really remember - I'm guessing I saw paper scrapping somewhere and thought it would be a fun creative thing to do. I did a few vacation albums, and then I did a wedding album for a friend with all her candids.
For digi, I started out editing photos and it just evolved from there

Did you take classes or teach yourself?
Self-taught

If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that?
Mmm, probably a year or so after I got into digi

How often do you scrap?
Not as often as I should but I like to scrap at least a couple of times a week. It depends a lot on new kit releases for my CTs

How much time do you typically spend on a layout?
Typically no more than an hour, usually between 30-45 minutes because my pages are pretty simple. Sometimes they can take longer if it's just not working out the way I had hoped, but when that happens I usually end up just deleting the page and starting over another day.

What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest?
Journaling is the hardest. I just don't do well with sharing my thoughts! LOL! Not sure any of it is what I would call the easiest!

Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration?
Usually the kit I'm using is the inspiration. If there's wordart, that will typically dictate what photo I use.

What is your favorite thing about scrapping?
It's strictly a creative outlet for me, that I can do at my own pace, in front of the TV in the evenings, as a way to relax

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP?
I started out on Amy Wolff and Natalie Braxton's CTs when TLP first opened its doors. That evolved into CTing for Kate Hadfield, and then becoming a Polly when they decided to expand the site and have a site CT.

How long have you been scrapping?
I began in High School, but back then I called it doodling. Started Digi in 2004

Did you paper scrap first?
Yep! :) I still do occasionally. But I like to make little mini books.

What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? I guess it started from doodling in school and then making designs on pictures and so on.

Did you take classes or teach yourself?
I taught myself how to digi scrap. I use a program called Photo Impact. It was alot easier to use than photoshop.

If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that?
When paper scrapping, I was on a store design team. I would make mini books for others using items they purchased. Then when I started digi, I have been on alot of teams. But I had to drop alot too (due to bandwith/internet usuage)

How often do you scrap? Daily. But that doesnt mean I finish a layout or even start a layout. I like to play around with shadowing and try to make my own items.

How much time do you typically spend on a layout?
30 minutes to a hour.

What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping?
Journaling. Im not real big on journaling on my layouts.

Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration?
the galleries :) I love to check out how others scrap with a certain kit :)

What is your favorite thing about scrapping?
figuring out the shortest way to do something.lol. But i think its sharing my layout with my family.

How long have you been scrapping? seems like forever but started digi in 2003
Did you paper scrap first? yes, a little.
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? creative outlet for sure.
Did you take classes or teach yourself? self-taught with a few muddled through tutorials along the way..mainly i just ask "stupid PS questions of the night" when i need to.
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? oh gosh... started when i was invited way back when.
How often do you scrap? never these days, sadly. there was a time i did one layout a day. one.complete.layout.
How much time do you typically spend on a layout? anywhere from 30min - a week.
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? those photos that really don't need to be scrapped..sometimes i try to force it and spin my wheels. then, i admit...they don't need anything else.
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? nope.
What is your favorite thing about scrapping? me time.
Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? i started the place?! along with wolff & natalie. it all started when there was this little froggy in a tummy.........

Oooh. Fun! When I read the thread title I was like, "Ummm...there is no method to my madness!" lol. Glad to know you're guiding my thoughts with your questions. ;)

How long have you been scrapping?
I paper scrapped an album for my husband (then fiance') to document his first deployment in 2003-2004. After we married and moved so often as a military family, the mess became to much. I gave away all of my supplies and didn't scrap again until 2009. My friend Monica, (just a few posts above...Hi, Monica!) introduced me to digi-scrapping when we lived in Germany. While I was on bed rest with my second son, I started an album for my first son. I still haven't finished that album! lol.

Did you paper scrap first? Guess I already answered that. ;)

What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? One of my most treasured possessions in life are the photographs I keep. I have many from my own childhood and thousands from my children's childhood. There's just something about looking through them and re-living each treasured memory. I've always had a creative side that needed an outlet. I discovered that scrapping is the perfect thing for me. A way to preserve the moments, the memories, the stories of a lifetime.

Did you take classes or teach yourself? When I first got PSE I opened it, clicked a few buttons and nothing happened. I stared at my screen, scratching my head for a good 30 minutes. Then I closed it and didn't open it for about 3 months. I asked Monica how she learned the basics and she recommended a CD (I don't remember the name) with basic, getting started, tutorials. I went through each lesson, but have since figured out a lot of more advanced techniques on my own or through online tutorials.

If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? My first CT was in June of 2010. Amber of Stolen Moments PM'd me and asked me to join her CT. I PM'd her back and asked her what a CT was! lol. I am still a part of her CT though my style has quite evolved since then. I joined TLP team in July of 2011 and I still have to pinch myself! I also freelance for a few other designers.

How often do you scrap? Usually everyday. My LO's are very product driven now since I have a few CT's. I scrap to keep up with deadlines.

How much time do you typically spend on a layout? I'd say 2-3 hours. I put a lot of layers
on those pages!

What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? Hardest would be coming up with title. Easiest would be putting it all together. I usually find that once I start adding layers it all comes together...probably because I usually just let them stay where they land. ;)

Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? Again, since I CT my LO's are usually product driven, so I glean inspiration from the kits, wordart, etc. But I do still occasionally scrap for myself. When I do I find my inspiration in the photo or the story. And if I ever get a bit of 'scrappers block' all I have to do is peruse the gallery here and it doesn't take long to find inspiration.

What is your favorite thing about scrapping? That I will have a lifetime of memories preserved for my family. My great-great grandchildren will be able to look at my albums!

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP?
One of the first stores I discovered was Scrap Matters. Krista the uber talented lady behind Sahlin Studio had her store there at the time and she was a favorite designer of mine. When she moved here, I followed her. I instantly fell in love! This just felt like home. I completed my first challenge in December of 2010 and the rest is history!

What a fun idea!

How long have you been scrapping? Since Jan 2007
Did you paper scrap first? No I am terribly uncrafty
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? I wanted to make my photos prettier and I stumbled across digital scrapping when I was googling
Did you take classes or teach yourself? Self taught, lots of trial and error
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? It took a long time before I was confident enough to CT for anyone, and then one day a lovely lady Anna Benjamin whose blog I stalked asked me to help her with her new designing venture and the rest as they say is history.
How often do you scrap? I scrap at least 3 times a week
How much time do you typically spend on a layout? - that depends, sometimes longer than others :) sometimes pages just come together and sometimes they don't lol
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? I can't extract to save myself and I wish I could smash the altered style - the easiest is working with the BYOC haha
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? - Challenges, every time I am in a slump I come here and check out the challenges :)
What is your favorite thing about scrapping? Meeting wonderful people who just get me

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? - my girl Kaye designs here and so I have always hung around in the background but recently I have really gotten into the challenges and the forum :) every one is just so nice here and I am really enjoying myself :heartlub

How long have you been scrapping? 3yrs (or is it 4?)
Did you paper scrap first? yes, I did.
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? I started traditional scrapbooking when my sister gave birth to her gorgeous baby girl.
Did you take classes or teach yourself? Tough myself... I took a few traditional scrapbooking classes with some cool celebs... loved it!
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? Pretty fast, I was very lucky that I had a computer background and that people were willing to give me constructive criticism.
How often do you scrap? I try every day.
How much time do you typically spend on a layout? It could be hours, I try not more than 1 hr, but I just finished one page that came together in less than 15 mins.
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? Hardest would be to figure out a title, easiest would be blending and adding stuff.
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? I look at the papers, they usually inspire most if not all the pages.
What is your favorite thing about scrapping? My friends!

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? Suzy my friend brought me here.

How long have you been scrapping? I had scrapbooks in college, but digiscrapping in 2008, I think
Did you paper scrap first? Yes. I had the rubber cement thing goin' in college but got really into CM with a friend when my daughter was about 8 (so 13 years or so)
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? One of my good friends was into CM and invited me somewhere remembering that we had made scrapbooks in college. I wanted to document the stories of my kids.
Did you take classes or teach yourself? I took digi classes as Jessica Sprague and met a group of 33 online friends that still talk 24 hours a day every day
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? My first was being a storyteller for Sara Gleason (dream gig for a template tart like me) beginning of 2012, then participated in enough of Amy Martin's monthly challenges that she took pity on me during a guest call, then added more as time went by.
How often do you scrap? Every night and on weekends unless something else is going on
How much time do you typically spend on a layout? typically, I can do one layout an evening after work. Last night, I did two but only because I had something in mind.
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? Hardest - coming up with the idea sometimes (unless it just jumps out at me), Easiest - the actual journaling part anymore. I write every night in a journal, some type of idea or layout journaling. It really comes in handy. Getting into the habit was the hardest part.
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? - For me that would be the CT kit or template, then to find a way to use one of my stories and a photo(s) or NO PHOTO just to tell the story.
What is your favorite thing about scrapping? Telling my family's stories

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? - The Jessica Sprague classes introduced us to different digi stores. I think I came here because of Sahlin Studios and stayed for Sara and Amy's templates, Heather's fonts, Kate's doodles and all the other things that make this place awesome!

How long have you been scrapping? My entire life. LOL It became a serious addiction about 8 years ago.
Did you paper scrap first? There was a very poorly executed paper scrapped baby book before I found digi. I do love hybrid now though.
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? I started in earnest when my oldest child was born.
Did you take classes or teach yourself? I took Photoshop classes in college, so my program skills came from there, but my scrapping is self-taught.
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? Yes, I used to CT for quite a few designers. One of my first CTs was Karah Fredricks back in 2006ish.
How often do you scrap? Once week, which is not as often as I would like, but I do something scrap-related every day.
How much time do you typically spend on a layout? 3 hours or more
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? Hardest - finding the time; Easiest - mixing and matching my stash...love it
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? TLP, of course :wave
What is your favorite thing about scrapping? Memory keeping for my family while meeting some truly amazing women who have become dear friends through the years
Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? I was brought on as a Polly during the first big CT call and became the co-owner about 2 years ago. :yoda

Awesome questions!

How long have you been scrapping? Digiscrapping for almost a year
Did you paper scrap first? for a little while but it was frustrating and time consuming. I did make lots of cards, though.
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? I wanted to document my life and I had the photographs but no way to display them. One day last year, I was thinking, "I wonder if there is any way I could use Photoshop to create a digital scrapbook page-- that would be awesome!" I had no idea it had been around forever!!!! To this day, it astounds me to think I had never stumbled on this concept before. The very first site I visited was TLP and when I saw the gallery I was hooked.
Did you take classes or teach yourself? I am constantly checking out our gallery for inspiration and reading occasional articles about techniques. This community is exceptional at helping everyone.
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? I was completely thrilled and honored in April when Jacque Larsen contacted me, asking me to be a part of her group. I applied for my spots on Kim Jensen and Heather Hess's teams and was asked to be a guest on Jimbo Jambo Designs team. Then, in June, I won a spot to be a guest Polly here at TLP and two months later then asked me to stay on as a Polly. It was absolutely hands down one of the greatest moments of my life. I have dreamt of being a Polly every since I found out about them. They are such a special group of women and I'm totally honored to be a part of the team.
How often do you scrap? I try to get at least one layout done a week but if I'm on a roll I can turn out five or six a week. Obviously, vacation time is a much more productive time for me.
How much time do you typically spend on a layout? Depends. Some simple ones take a half hour or so, other more complicated ones take more than an hour. I love the speed scraps here because it helps me streamline my workflow.
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? Wow, good question. Hardest is finding uninterrupted time to do it. Easiest is getting the photos-- I love photography and have a very willing daughter so I've got a lot of material in that department.
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? Our gallery! Oh my gosh, the talent here is astounding. Our terrific challenges here always give me a great way to try new things. Templates help me immensely too and a lot of time it's the photo, matched up with a kit that gets me going.
What is your favorite thing about scrapping? The fact that I'm being creative and using my photography and in the end, I can upload these layouts into a book and it's DONE!

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? Answered above. Once I found this community, I never looked back (why would I?). It is truly the best online community I have ever encountered-- a genuinely kind, talented group of women who are funny, smart and diverse. When I first came here last year, I kept thinking, "These women are so nice! I wonder what they're like behind the scenes..." Well, let me tell you, they're even smushier and sweeter backstage. I love 'em! :)

How long have you been scrapping? Officially since 2008 but I didn't get serious until 2009.

Did you paper scrap first? I did two paper albums and they were awful!

What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start? I was learning how to do siggies for a mommy board and found digistuff and I was hooked.

Did you take classes or teach yourself? Not at the beginning I just did challenges and read tutorials online. I only took classes over the past two years.

If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? I started CTing late 2009/early 2010. I entered a scrap contest and made top ten but didn't win. I was invited to join the CT of a relative new designer at the time (Chelle's Creations). I got another designer, then a guest store spot, full time store spot, I quit all but one and now I am back to 3 full time and a freelance spot.

How often do you scrap? Probably 3-5 times a week if time allows.

How much time do you typically spend on a layout? 1-2 hours.

What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping? The easiest? Hardest: telling the story without sounding trite or cheesy. Easiest: Having fun and clustering.

Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration?
Pinterest or Scrap Stacks.

What is your favorite thing about scrapping? Preserving memories in a creatively fulfilling way and getting to hang out with some pretty awesome people!

Oh, and one more -- how did you come to join TLP? Honestly, I love scrapping and fun and funky products. TLP fills that niche to a T. Some of favorite designers have either moved here or guested here and I kind of have made it one of digihomes, although I have been absent for a while due to real life!

How long have you been scrapping?
Since 1998 or something like that...I started digiscrapping in 2008 (tried in 2006 but hated it).
Did you paper scrap first?
Yes!! Did that for about 10 years before making the switch...still paper scrap some things
What got you involved in scrapping/why did you start?
I wanted to remember the little things about my son growing up!
Did you take classes or teach yourself?
Self Taught!
If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that?
I have been on TONS of awesome teams over the years. I started digiscrapping the fall of 2008 and I was invited on my first three teams that winter at Elemental Scraps. That spring I joined the site CT for there. I have been on CTs ever since and LOVE it!!!
How often do you scrap?
Every single day...PS is opened all day long so I scrap when I have a few minutes here and there. I might get a page done in the AM while the boys are playing and then scrap during nap time too. I scrap at night as well after the boys go to bed.
How much time do you typically spend on a layout?
any where from 20 minutes to 2 hours...it just depends.
What is the hardest thing for you about scrapping?
figuring out what I want to scrap. I will go through my folders and folders of pictures to find the perfect photos!!!
The easiest?
Once I have my pictures...everything else falls into place.
Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jump start your inspiration?
I definitely look at the galleries if I am having trouble jumpstarting my creativity...or I grab a template and go from there!!
What is your favorite thing about scrapping?
It's ME time!!!

How long have you been scrapping? I've been digitally scrapping since February 2003. I had made a handful of paper layouts before that, but they looked like a cross-eyed and very sad orangutan had made them, so I was happy to ditch traditional!

Did you paper scrap first? See above.

What got you involved in scrapping? Why did you start? I've always had photo albums and Hallmark albums, but I started digitally scrapping ten years ago because I was married at the time to someone whose children lived several hours away from us. It was a way for us to remember the time we did share with them as well as to encourage us to keep on making more memories with them.

Did you take classes or teach yourself? There were no classes back then, so it was just trial 'n' error. I dislike tutorials, so it was just me chuggin' along one pixel at a time. This is why I just made my first styles a few weeks ago! :giggle

If you have been part of any designer CTs, when did you start doing that? How often do you scrap? I don't remember. They didn't have any CTs to start with (or designers who sold their product for that matter), so maybe 2004? I think I served as a 'digital design member' for a paper site that had just introduced some digital product. I scrap every weeknight and usually at least one weekend night, too, and usually get an average of 4-8 pages done per week.

How much time do you typically spend on a layout? a couple hours

What is the hardest for you about scrapping? The easiest? I suck at composition, so I use a lot of templates. I've been writing since I was old enough to hold a pencil, so journaling is always the easiest part of the page for me.

Do you have a "go-to" technique/place/product/inspiration source to jumpstart your inspiration? Hmmm... not really. I just go with the flow most of the time and see what hits me. Classic INFJ.

What is your favorite thing about digital scrapping? I love preserving my story and my family's story in a medium that is not only personally fulfilling, but also technologically-friendly and aesthetically-pleasing. :beat
