How do you like your Christmas?

Wow, all these fancy decorator trees! Ours is packed within an inch of its life with a colorful explosion of ornaments in every variety imaginable. No theme – just a collection of memories and other stuff we just liked. :)

This is us as well..and I love it!

We also buy a fresh tree and actually go to a fun place where we take a horse drawn wagon ride out to the field and the kids take turns picking out the tree each year. Then I have a huge assortment of ornaments in every color of the rainbow. I usually like to use colored Christmas lights too, but I have to take turn with my hubby who prefers all white lights.

Ours is like Kim's tree. I buy a few ornaments here and there if they're cute. No color scheme at all. Some are folksy, some traditional, some plastic, some metal...it really doesn't matter. Presents are wrapped with whatever I pick up. :)

I love more modern XD I like the blues, silvers and whites! however still use a few traditional things like the old angel at the top in one of the photos below.. here's my tree last year! XD

the gold ornament may not "match" but i like to hang up gift ornaments from others too :) (my great cousin painted this gold ornament in the picture above)

My ornaments are your traditional red, green, gold with lots of glass, felt folksy stuff and kids handmade ornaments from elementary school. Back about 10 years ago, I started collecting purple and silver ornaments too. I kind of alternate ornaments each year or so to change it up. A couple of years ago, we got our youngest kitten who climbed in the tree and I couldn't put ANY ornaments on it at all. Last year, she didn't climb... much... so I put on a few ornaments that couldn't be broken. Hopefully this year I'll be able to put on a full compliment of ornaments.

we have one traditional tree and the others are just fun untraditional ones.

Red, white and silver here. Some brown and grey too. And the more imperfect, the better, I don't like those perfectly trimmed trees.

I don't ask him for his opinion. :giggle

You guys are guilting me into getting the kids ornaments out this year, though. I used to put 2 trees up, one mine and one for their stuff. It was too stressful trying to keep them from tearing into the boxes (they have all the keepsake Hallmark collectible ones) while I tried to keep everything in good shape so I haven't put their tree up in a few years. Now I don't have a place for a second tree since our basement is in shambles so I might have to give in and let them have my tree. Lol

Eclectic? We have a mish mash of ornaments on our tree. The kids will ususally string some cereal, too. It's not a "matchy matchy" tree.

I don't have a color scheme. *ducks*

The tree is a hodgepodge of ornaments that are mostly sentimental from my childhood and Hubs' as well as the ornaments I buy the kids each year. The stockings don't match, either; although I would like to replace them with better quality ones, they still won't match when I buy new.

I don't usually decorate that traditionally, but I guess I'm just a softie at Christmas and decorate the way my mom used to when I was growing up.

Traditional and sort of boring! LOL

My trees have to have all white lights on them...and NOT blink!!!

We put up two trees...one with the boys' ornaments on it that they get every year (they each get a themed ornament from my parents) and it also has my "teacher" ornaments on it from when I taught.

The other tree is all snowmen/snowflakes.

and because my son brought home a baby kitten a few weeks ago, we've decided not to put up the tree this year. I don't want to be fearful of him chewing on lights, knocking ornaments all over, climbing the tree...been there, done that. We'll give him another year!

I am allergic to real Xmas trees so ours is not real :D
My brother was allergic, so we always had artificial trees growing up. DH always had real. We bought a real one for our first Christmas together. We were poked by pine needles in the carpet for months afterward. The next year he happily went artificial and has never suggested a real tree again. :giggle

i love a traditional tree. i used to do a themed tree every year when the kids were little.
but then they started wanting a say in the matter.
so now it is eclectic bibs and bobs. with LOTS of homemade ornaments.
and LOTS of red........ i LOVE red.
we are putting it up this weekend, so i will post a pic then!

*sigh* I think I might like to have a tree some day that all matched like Angie's. My tree looks like the ornament section of Hallmark threw up on it.... oh yeah... cuz it did!! My mother buys each of us at least one new Hallmark ornament every year (since I was born!). In a few years, it will have fewer ornaments on it - my oldest will be leaving the nest and taking all of his ornaments with him... that's why the new ornaments for each of us each year. When we grow up and move away, we have those ornaments to start our own tree with. Pretty cool tradition that I plan to continue for my kids (and future grandkids).

Outside of that... I'm with Carly... I like Christmas OVER!

They (my parents) don't call me Grinch for nothing!! :D

you guys have me thinking, and i just realized i have no idea where we are actually going to put our tree this year. new house and all. the place we put it up last year is now heavily occupied by furniture....the hazards of finally settling in i suppose. i think i'm going to have to figure this out pronto.
