Hope anyone else in Auckland (NZ) came through the night OK

Oh no! Not more flooding! I hope everyone is safe.

More rain on one day than EVER recorded (seems to be a common refrain all over the world now). All the roads are ripped up now so it's going to be a costly event. Fortunately my place was unaffected but a lot of people have lost a lot, sadly.

The news photos of the area are frightening, sad situation but I’m glad you are ok.

@LynnG glad you're ok. Other than getting drenched on my way home from work, we're unscathed. The train broke a windscreen wiper and we had to get off and wait for the next train service 20 minutes behind it. A minor inconvenience compared with what others have gone through.
There are some amazing videos of water flowing over the top of lane barriers on the motorway and water pouring into buses as they try to get people home. So many cars floating or submerged, even a 'tiny home' floated off.

Glad to hear you have a good report.

oh no not again! I hope everyone is safe! @A-M Anne-marie, I hope you're safe and dry!
thankyou for thinking of me. We are safe here in Australia. My brother in New Zealand is in Rotorua so he is okay.
I had not seen the news to know of this happening. My heart goes out to those who have had their homes and shops flooded.

If where we now live, flooded the rest of the state would be in big trouble as this area is on the edge of a mountain range.

Yes I’m all ok here luckily as I’m a fair way away from the “action” so to speak plus I live one story up so the water would need to be incredibly high to reach me. Been offline for other reasons today but thanks for checking in
