Flooding in our area of Australia | UPDATE: Evacuation See Post 23

That is so lovely of you! They are inland between Ballina and Evan's Head, if that helps (for some reason i thought she was closer to Yamba). This is Anne_Marie's page from MOC

How did your part of SE Qld fair?

Oh no - Coraki is (was) a lovely rural/farming community just west of Woodburn about 1.5 hrs south of us here on the Gold Coast and right on the rivers that are recording record flood levels. We occasionally go (went) there for golf days. Total devastation there and now running out of essentials, including water. This is a link to an ABC news article yesterday: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-03-04/flooded-coraki-in-northern-nsw/100881082

We are currently ferrying supplies daily to our D-i-L in Murwillumbah (son is a FIFO and currently in Western Australia working). Their home is high on a hill but friends' places have not been so lucky. Emm currently has 2 extra families at their house with access by boat only - their new camper trailer is being put to good use. We drive as far as we can and she or our grandson rows the boat over filled with the washing & rubbish, and we then replace with food, water, bedding & clean clothes!! The water is receding but ever so slowly!

We have been OK here at home though the water here in Emerald Lakes rose about 2 metres so we had about 4' of water under our house. That has gone down now and everything has been gurnied and cleaned.

Limited data on my mobile.
still in evacuation centre with power only from generators in whole of town
water still in our backyard. Early in week told incorrect information as waters only reached window sill height. Still means we have lost most everything other than solid timber furniture. All electric items will no good and all bedding and clothes.
Tuesday daughter abd soninlaw hope to be here to start the bug throw out and clean up.

It may be quite some time before I have computer and Internet.
I will miss you all. Take care of yourselves.

Great to hear that you are OK Anne-Marie @A-M and also pleased to hear that you will have help with the massive cleanup - window sill height is still a whole lot of water & mud!
Take care - and look after yourselves first & foremost.
Trish

Thank you so much for keeping us updated @A-M ! I going to continue praying. Having gone through clean up following several hurricanes, I just feel terrible. It's so hard. Check in again when and if you can. Sending love and ((HUGS)) to you!

@A-M you are in my thoughts & prayers! I am so sorry, this is a devastating loss.

Big hugs and prayers for the water to recede quickly and for you to be able to get on with your lives. Stay safe!!
