I have my eyes checked about once a year. Just went a couple of weeks ago. This actually reminded me that my new glasses are in and I need to go pick them up.
I wear glasses currently. I have progressives for general wear, and a single-vision pair for computer use. I usually take my glasses off when I'm using my phone. I've always been very nearsighted and started wearing glasses at about age 5. When I was about 7, they started me on a program with hard contact lenses that was supposed to correct my vision as I grew. It didn't really do much and I got a lot of corneal abrasions. I wore contacts most of the time up until about age 30. Once I had kids, it just got to be too much of a hassle to bother with.
My eyes lately get a little "better" each year as the aging tendency for far-sightedness offsets a bit of my nearsightedness. I mainly notice it as the overcorrected prescription makes it harder to read highway signs. I doubt it will ever get to the point that I don't need glasses though, so I just keep having to fork over the money for new glasses as needed.
