Ever bought a kit you dont like ....

I happen to love this kit! I used it for a Meet The Teacher Night layout...

I'll be using it again this week or next... my 6th grader is bringing home her very first all A's and two A+ report card!! We're over the moon that her difficulties with learning might finally be behind her!

But I do have things in my stash that I regret buying. :( The preview made it look so good and then when I actually went to use it... well, less than stellar results. I do try to use everything in my stash though.
 
ohmygoodness! i totally love this kit and cards! i do know what you mean though...i've bought kits before because the previews look great, and then when i look at the individual pieces, i feel less than impressed. that's usually when i go back to the preview and pinpoint exactly what it was that i was drawn to from the beginning. then i work with those aspects to try to jump start a project. i find, usually, for me it's one or two elements, or it's the general color scheme. i'll pull those things into photoshop and start from there.
 
What i do with a kit I find more challenging is scrap a page that is outside my normal style. I use it as an opportunity to expand my scrapping repertoire!!....try something new!!

Do something scrappin' Radical!!

Funny thing is....these pages that I have done where the kit wasn't originally my fav....those layouts have been my most fav....because I thought outside my "normal" scrapping self and went "rogue"!!! LOL.

Sometimes I even now look for kits that are not my usual style so I can "play".....gets the creative juices flowing.
