I loved the thread about ya'lls mornings. So what is the last hour before crawling into bed look like?
I puter a bit, then sit in living room with Kindle and my hubby and I listen to Bill O'Reilly on our XM radio. I do comments for the Lily Pad, and he plays a little game on his lap top. We laugh or bemoan the commentary. Then, let dogs out ONE more time, a round the house to lock doors for the night, turn off the lights, turn down the heat(or A/C in summer) and to bed.
Ten PM is our crashing time most nights.
YOU?

well it's 1:30am here and I'm thinking of shutting down. That's pretty normal for me. Often it's 3am. This is my time :) Kids are asleep, husband has been watching car videos on his computer, things like Top Gear and MCM, and he is now camped in the bathroom playing games on his phone being a man :P so I probably have another hour to myself and can still beat him to bed. I've been scrapping tonight but my nights can be scrapping, gaming, photo editing, painting my nails or all of the above. Once I shut down I usually clean up the kitchen, empty and pack the dishwasher and get the breakfast things out for the kids. I check the cats supplies and make sure they are both in. Tonight I'm missing one but I'm not worried yet, he usually turns up. I prefer to shut the cats in when it gets dark but one of them is a right pain (Spock) and will go from window to window pulling at the blinds if I shut him in before he likes. Then he will open cupboards and steal socks (or soft toys or tissues) and put them in his food bowl. I always check on the kids on my way to bed. I usually have to fish teddies out of their PJs and adjust their covers for the weather. Is it only my boys who like to shove their teddy bears inside their PJs? Do I have the only 12yo boy who still sleeps with a teddy? and why do they throw the covers off when it's cold but pull the sheets over their heads when it's hot? Anyway it's stinking hot outside so I'll leave the aircon on tonight for the kids. One of the cats (Data) will follow me on my rounds, he checks on the kids and we also do a spider check. We get a couple of white tail spiders each night so I always check the ceilings before bed. I should get about 4 hours sleep before the kids wake me, if I'm lucky they will sleep in a bit.

During school nights we crash between 10p-11p
We wind down in different ways, the current routine is to play each other in Words with Friends on our Kindles in bed. Then let the dog out and off to bed.

I 'puter a bit, tv a bit, check the cats are in and the kids don't need anything and then head off myself.
Often the boys stay up later than I do.
After supper I am off duty, DH loads the dishes and DD gets herself ready for school the next day.

You are not the only one. My son slept with stuffies until last year when he was 13. Even now, he some in his closet and a few make their way to his bed from time to time -- although he doesn't "need" them to be there like he used to.

My hubby and I don't watch the same shows at all so I tend to "retire" an hour or two before bed and watch some of my shows in bed. Putter around on my ipad while watching and then read a book for a bit right before bed. I have teens so they don't need a lot of bedtime attention (which is both liberating and a little sad) but I always have to remind my son to wear the bands for his braces.

I'm usually dead to the world anywhere from 6:30-8:30 pm. Bedtime is 9:00, so I usually spend the last hour getting ready for the early wake up the next morning (making overnight oatmeal, assembling lunch, getting clothes ready to wear, making sure the alarms are set for 4:40 & 4:35). I'm usually so tired that I can't focus to read, but if I can work on a scrapbook page, I'll do that.

We "sleep in" on Saturdays. DD needs to be at the rink in another town by 9:00 am, so we're out of the house by 8:30 at the latest. Much better than 5:10 am! Sundays are church, so we're out of the house early, too.

I really would like a sleep in day, but my inner clock wakes me up by 6:00 am. Oh well.

I usually work on Photoshop in "my room" in the evenings. But I do try to make an appearance in the living room to watch TV with DH, at least for a bit. But almost invariably, I'll fall asleep within 30 minutes of watching TV. Yep, I'm really good company, not.

After munchkin goes to bed, I'm off to the computer, or the couch or both. It depends on what DH is watching or video game playing. Right now he's catching up on The Walking Dead, so I prefer to scrap in my office. When I turn off the computer, I will go downstairs, let the dog out one more time. Check all the locks. Turn the lights off on my way upstairs. Stop at munchkin's room and see if he needs his covers back. He has a habit of trying to burrow under stuffed animals when he can't get his blanket untwisted. How he twists it up I have no idea! He sleeps like the dead, and so still. Check the heat- a/c in case DH overrode it, set it back to the program setting. Then it's teeth, hair, and contacts. And usually I lay in bed with a book for an hourish before I fall asleep. Unless it's really late, like 2am. Then I'll be asleep fast.

And I too am officially glad that a spidercheck is not a concern for me.

My last hour before bed is usually spent here...commenting in the gallery or catching up on posts I've missed. I try to be in bed by 9:30 so I can read for a few before going to sleep. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't. On my way up, I lock the doors, turn off the lights, pick up odds and ends, and bring the dog and cat in the house. The last thing I do is make sure my 5am alarm is set.

Lol! I should have mentioned that here, we do scorpion checks. I did have one sting me on the toe in bed one night. Every time I see one in the house and whenever we get back from vacation, I check the sheets every night for a few weeks. Then I get lazy again and don't.

Ew! I hope I don't have to do scorpion checks! @dawnmarch A spider was in my shoe once, and when I put it on, I squished it. That image and feeling has stayed with me for years! I still check my shoes if I haven't worn them in awhile.

Son goes to bed at 10 pm, so a few minutes before then, he will turn off his electronics, clean up any Nerf guns or Legos and brush his teeth, then we say prayer together. Hubby usually follows to bed at the same time or shortly thereafter, although he's been staying up later with me and watching The Office (again).

I will usually be on the computer or watching TV but then when I'm ready for bed. I go around, turning off all the lights (hubby checks the doors before he retires) and I grab any extra glasses and start the dishwasher. I fluff the pillows and straighten blankets, and do a quick look for any Legos or Nerf darts that got overlooked by son.

I usually unwind by playing one round of a word search and then turning off my electronics, but since I've been sleeping in my chair in the living room, I have been watching more TV than usual.

I sit in my chair and hang out on the computer, sometimes scrapping, sometimes reading the forum, Facebook, or playing Spider Solitaire, etc. Some times I fall asleep with my hand on the mouse and I click on things without meaning to. Some times, I put it away and snooze for awhile in my chair. My kiddos are not kids any more, so they do their own thing. I do check all the doors before going to bed. I also usually put the pup dog to bed. She sleeps in a crate and I cover her up and tuck her in with her blankets. During the winter, she will still be all tucked up in the morning. Then I wash my face, brush my teeth, etc. I like to go to bed before my husband so I can spread out all over the bed.

I usually do scrapping stuff between 9-11. Sometimes we watch Netflix (lately we've been watching Dr. Who again). Around 11 I head to bed. Then hubby & I watch a few funnies on youtube together before shutting off the lights. Lights are usually about by 11:30.

I usually watch tv and/or play on the computer. I go to bed between 9 and 10 and read my phone while my husband tells me that I'm not supposed to do that because it interferes with sleep. Sometimes I'll read a book on my kindle.

Although I'm in bed at a decent hour, I usually putter on my ipad til my mum is home from work which could be as late as midnight on Sunday (or any day she gets asked to do OT which at time and a half who would say no to that)

My last hour is usually on the computer scrapping or in bed reading or doing sudoko/crossword. Time varies between 8.30pm and midnight.
