I'm one of those people that used to start xmas shopping around June/July and tries to be organised well before the big day. Easter eggs have been in the shops since about Dec 26 but I haven't bought any yet and I need to get my act together so I'm not in the grocery store the day before Easter. Trying to psych myself up to do it today, because DS needs easter hat parade 'decorations' for next week anyway but I'm finding it hard to care, a bit like this:

Is Easter big at your place and are you all organised already?

No big deal here, my mums birthday is that weekend as well so that would take priority except she is working all weekend.

I was in the store today and thinking...Yikes! But I still didn't buy anything lol. I'm such a procrasinator. I'm sure I'll be Easter shopping some time late next week haha.

I always buy the egg coloring kits & forget to do them. We have dyed eggs 2-3 days late a couple of times. #MomoftheYear! This year, the city egg hunt conflicts with cub scouts, so not exactly sure what we'll be doing. Ooh, I did order 2 personalized bunnies from a BradsDeals!

Never did go out much for Easter stuff, especially the Easter baskets or new clothes. We have colored eggs in the past but then someone has to eat all of them. I don't think we are doing anything this year. Not even sure if we are having a special lunch. Maybe we should go out after church.

One year my kids got a little crazy -- they asked me to hid empty plastic eggs in the yard and then ran around seeing who could find the most the fastest. I think I refused to hide them again after the third time that day.

Nope, not ready for Easter at all (yet). Since we *just* got back from vacation (it's been almost a full week now) and had to jump right back into our "normal" schedule. Plus, DS has a music performance this weekend and another next Saturday and a science fair next week. I'm sure I'll be scrambling to get baskets put together at the last minute. Luckily, we don't dye eggs (no one will eat them) and if I need to, I can grab summery items for the baskets that the kids will need soon.

As for "stuff" that we do, I'm mostly done with the kids' Easter baskets. I need to get their Easter bunnies, but lately they've been with me every time I've been at the store and this stupid Four'easter didn't help! Hopefully I can pick them up this weekend. Anyway, their baskets aren't too elaborate, but DH and I do like to have a fun egg hunt for them. And we always dye eggs.

The past few years the kids and I have traveled to be with family on Easter, but this year we're staying home. TBH, I like seeing family but not having to pack and deal with kids in an airport and on a plane (and not sleeping on a couch for a week) will be very nice! :) Not traveling also means that I can put out a few Easter decorations!

I have my house decorated, which I do for me every year, but haven't bought one thing for the Easter basket for my little grandson. He won't even be here this year, so I guess I'm just not in the spirit at all.

I get the kids' summer church clothes at Easter, but now that the older ones aren't needing new clothes every other second, and the youngest has all of his older brother's past outfits, I'm not feeling the need to run out and get them yet this year. I'll have to take them out Sunday, since we're running out of time, and my daughter really does need a new dress or two.

We don't usually do too much for Easter -- the end of March / beginning of April is a super busy time for us -- but the Easter Bunny was lazy one year and only hid the baskets, not the eggs, and we still hear the complaints about it. My youngest is nine, so I can't call it off just yet. I'll have to figure out a time to run out and do THAT shopping too.

I don't decorate, but I was thinking yesterday that the Christmas wreath is looking a little brown and needs to come down. That would be a good task for the Easter Bunny! LOL I think I can leave it up for another week, just to make it more dramatic -- assuming the kids even notice. :)

I don't really do Easter baskets for the kids, but we always do an Easter egg hunt in the afternoon after lunch with my In-laws. This is the one holiday I don't have to cook for too because I'm in the choir at my church and we sing for the sunrise service at 6:30 am and then two regular services at 8:00 and 10:30 am. I'm usually so darn tired that I'm not worth much after getting up so early in the morning. Ha ha! I'm usually stuffing eggs at my MIL's house once we get there... so yeah, I'm a bit of a procrastinator. Oops! I also haven't checked to see if they have anything nice for Easter that fits. The last few years my boys haven't even gotten a new outfit. They just wear their usual church stuff... and they don't even care. :)

I am a bit behind on the decorating as well. Usually on March 18th the St. Patty's day stuff comes down & Easter goes up. I just did it yesterday! lol! Not too bad. We did our annual pics with the Easter Bunny on monday & will probably dye eggs in the next week. We usually go to a family member's for Easter Brunch, then another family member's for dessert. This year, I have no clue who is hosting brunch... but I'd be fine with only going to dessert! ;) This year with the date being sorta weird- it's our spring break that week, so we are leaving to visit my family a bit later than normal & will only be able to be over on the west side of WA during the week. Thankfully my mom works from home a lot & my sister has tues/wed off so we can still do fun stuff! :)

I have a bin of Easter stuff - this kind of thing hit me when I moved to the US after 20 years abroad with little if any holiday decorating back then. My dh goes nuts with my bin collection since he has to bring them down from the attic. Now since my 2nd son and dil are arriving tomorrow for a week, they can help me transition from St. Patrick's day stuff to Easter things. I did buy a really pretty wreath at Pier 1 this week AND a 15" rabbit. He didn't go outside because his little feet would have frozen or dissolved (papiermache?) in the snow!

No, Easter just means there's another kind of candy available at the grocery store for us. LOL We did a few egg hunts and dyed some eggs when my kids were little. I had to look at the calendar just now to see when Easter is; I only vaguely knew it's in the next few weeks. :D

Nope. Not a big deal here. In fact, I'll be at the beach for the week, which is much better than Easter baskets.

I put baskets together for my kids. Haven't purchased a single thing though.
I'm sure we'll do linner at my mom's house and hide eggs for the kids. This year will be the first year in many, many years that we will not be at my grandparent's house since they are both gone now. It'll be weird and sad.

No decorating here - I have one wooden box I decorated when I was a designer on a paper scrap team and had to come up with something with an Easter theme - it gets filled up with choccy eggs and just as quickly, the eggs disappear! It's a mystery ...:think
One of our friends is turning 50 - he lives out of town on a few acres and has organised a camping party - last count there were 180 people coming - should be mad but fun. We are leaving the kids behind so Easter bunny may be a bit late delivering on sunday...

Christmas and Easter were the two big holidays growing up. Easter was very special to us because it was one of the two times of the year that we got new clothes (the other being back to school). I loved it because it meant new dress, hat, purse, shoes, gloves, and socks. The chocolate and candy didn't hurt, either!

I've not done anything yet. It's spring break next week and I'll make a trip to See's Candy for Easter treats (that's what we always received growing up, so I'm thrilled they have See's pop-up shops here between Thanksgiving and Easter!).

Unfortunately, I married into a family that just isn't big into holidays. It would just be me who did all the decorating, shopping, basket making, and all the un-decorating afterwards. I was exhausted, so I went on strike. No help, no decorations, no nothing for each holiday. The only holiday I receive any help for now is for Christmas, simply because one year I refused to decorate or put up the tree because I didn't get any help. I'm so bad, but it worked. The next year they were there to help, but their help has begun to dwindle. I may have to go on strike again next year!

I didn't put out any of our Easter decorations this year (I don't have much). We don't do baskets anymore either... just a gift for the kids (they're teens, so usually a gift card and a little bit of candy). We usually go to our church's Easter Sunrise Service on the beach here in Chicago, but this year we won't be home. My son and husband will be in Michigan to visit his parents before my son has his accepted student day at University of Michigan. And my daughter and I will be at Disneyland!! :happydance2

I have their outfits (except for dress shoes for DD) but I have nothing for their baskets yet. I used to be able to buy it in front of DD when she was little and she wouldn't notice/remember when it showed up a couple of weeks later from the Easter Bunny but DS has an incredible memory so I can't pull that trick with him. I will have to sneak out Friday to do it after my husband gets home from work. I don't decorate for holidays except Christmas.

DH has mentioned wanting to dye eggs with the kids so I guess we'll be doing that, too?! He's the only one who eats hard-boiled eggs so he will have a whole lot to eat next week!

I am not too worried as my mom also has the Easter Bunny bring a basket of goodies to her house + hides an entire bag of chocolate eggs around her living room so they will get plenty of candy (and that's all they care abt, anyways!).

When the girls were little, we used to do a backyard Easter egg hunt and the Easter Bunny bought baskets (very little candy in them though - usually hair accessories, a small game, book, etc.). Now, we just have family for dinner that day and no chocolate in sight!!
