Downton Abbey

Because of this thread, I started watching it tonight. What a wonderful escape from reality! When I finished watching it, I felt like I had stayed at an elegant Bed and Breakfast for an hour. Thank you for the recommendations. I usually shy away from hype and wildly popular trends but I'll make an exception in this case. :) :beat
 
I just finished watching both seasons and LOVED every second of it! Thank you for the escape. . .I love how proper and formal the rules of etiquette were back in that time period. Now, to wait out it's return!

I couldn't find season one on pbs...it might be there, but I could only see season 2. You can watch season one on Netflix and on Amazon you can get it for free if you have Amazon Prime.

I think I'm going to buy the DVD's soon. I know I'm going to want to watch them again...and again...

I was so disappointed in Lord Grantham at the end of Season 2 . . . I've always felt like he would be honorable. And, he did make the right decision in the end, but it seems crazy to think that he might choose to do that and disown his own daughter for marrying the chauffuer!

But then there's Thomas. . . evil evil evil!

I love Violet too! She so fun and witty. I just love the dialogue between she and cousin Isobel!
 
well i jumped on the band wagon! watched all of season 1 last sunday till 3 in the morning! Need to find season 2.....so has season 3 started or when?

What do you think will happen in season 3? I think there will be a wedding, a return with a baby, an early pardon.

I don't want to spoil anything but I am curious about what O'Brien was going to confess to Cora!!!! I think someone's bad behavior in Season 2 wasn't the first time! :)

Val, you can watch all of season 2 on PBS.org until March 7th. They have all the episodes on there. Season 3 should be out later this year.
 
I haven't watched this yet but I want to! Without revealing too much spoilers... tell me why I would like it?
I generally don't enjoy period pieces, especially English ones, LOL. Can I look past that part and just enjoy the stories?
