I bought these ages ago way before they were marketed as a CU product....any suggestions on how to use them in my own scrapping? They've been reminding me they are in my stash for way way too long not being used

you could use them with blending modes to grunge up papers. You could also use them to blend big photos into layouts. Resize them for smaller photos. Recolor them to use as paints. Or clip papers to them… The possibilities are endless

I use them to mask papers as part of layering to make the background look painted. I don't know how to search my gallery (or my finished pages on my harddrive) to find the individual layouts that use this product to share with you unfortunately.

You can play with the opacity of the mask layer and, like Kayla @keepscrappin mentioned, you can change the mask layer's blend mode. (eta: those two things can really change the feel of the mask IMO. I do that often on Art Journaling pages.) And you can even layer the masks and clip different papers or photos OR clip a solid color/gradient layer to the paint mask layer(s) and then play with blending/opacity/etc. Shrink the layers to fit a photo, or to fit journaling on your page. Maybe just playing around with these options will lead to something you like, or just give you ideas for future pages.

Yeah, I would click some to papes specially use some black, white or kraft color papers for a cool distress look.
