Do you keep zip files?

Zips get deleted. I have a backup with Backblaze and if I save over anything, I can usually always retrieve from there.

Didn't help me... Backblaze quit updating and I lost about a month to 6 weeks worth of stuff when my computer died during a power outage because of a tornado in 2019.

Nope. I used to once upon a time. And when I went to use it: corrupted. So, it was pointless.
I unzip, and delete.

I backup on 2 drives and use Backblaze. (Photos are backed up on 3 drives, plus up until 2020 all of them are also backed up in Google).
I check Backblaze monthly by downloading files and making sure that things are backed up. And that it's working correctly.

So, nope. No zips.

I used to not but had some computer crashes and lost a lot of stuff so now I do keep them.

after i unzip DL's and check it's all good, i delete the zip files
