In the last 10-ish years, I feel like the only concerts I've gone to are the ones my kids wanted to see, aka Taylor Swift, etc. LOL For the first time in forever, hubby and I have tickets to something I wanted to see. I am a week out from seeing the U2 Joshua Tree tour! Serious case of fan-girling happening over here - so excited!

What about you - are you a concert goer?

I am not a big concert-goer. I don't really know why. The few that I've been to have been a blast and I enjoy myself. The last concert I went to was Garth Brooks. It was a concert I'd been waiting years to go to, since before his retirement. And the most memorable was Lillith Fair (I think it was the last year they toured).

We like to go to concerts, but we don't usually have the time or money to be able to go on a regular basis. We are especially suckers for certain venues we really like, such as the Hollywood Bowl or the Greek. But, they are ALWAYS a huge deal date, like an anniversary or someone's birthday. We have been in the last year to maybe 2 or 3 at the most. I know we saw Weird Al at the bowl but that was more than a year ago. My husband saw Straight No Chaser and Post Modern Jukebox with my daughter at the Greek for her birthday a month ago or so...

I think we'd like to be concert people, it just doesn't end up happening enough.

Huggles!!

YES! All the way to concerts! Although we were in a bit of no concert spell for a while - life, busy, didn't make the time ... IDK? But this year we made the effort to get out there and see some live music again ... and I just love it. Some for my daughter ... where I swear I'm yawning and dieing to leave ... and some just for me & the hubby. We went up to Montreal for one earlier this month and our Ireland trip (believe it or not) got seriously started bc hubby wanted to go to a concert there. I do prefer the more intimate smaller venues though. A sign I'm getting old? :giggle

Enjoy U2 ... that will be a blast!

Wow, U2, that will be amazing! Enjoy :cheerWe are big concert goers. It's usually a family thing and we all look forward to them soooo much! :)

I am blessed to be married to a ROCK star! lol, he plays guitar in a local church Heavy Rock group and we have concerts at least once a month! I am a groupie!! I don't go to any others. but back in the day.............bhahaha

I haven't been to a concert in years. I'm not interested in a big stadium concert but the idea of small venues with a more intimate crowd is more appealing to me. When I was younger I went to at least a few a year.

I do love a good concert, although I haven't been to many and it has been decades since I attended one, so apparently not enough to deal with the cost and the crowds. My first concert was The Carpenters in the gym of our local university in 1973. I only have a vague memory of a tiny, blurry, brightly-lit Karen on stage, but I was only 5½ so I'm impressed that I have any memory of it at all. :giggle

I saw a few more in high school at that same univeristy, and then Journey and Huey Lewis while I was in college. I've seen Genesis (1992) and Janet Jackson (1994) here in the Dallas area, but I think that's it.

U2 did come to my school when I was a college sophomore (the original Joshua Tree tour). I wasn't into them, but my younger brother and his friends were huge fans. There was a lottery system for being able to buy tickets, but they were sold out well before they got anywhere near my number. Later they decided to open up another section of seats in the upper tier behind the stage, and I was able to snag tickets then. I felt bad that the seats were so unimpressive, but my brother and his friends were thrilled, and they were over the moon when the band turned around and performed one song just for their section. :-)

Have so much fun Laura! I have a love for U2 from my older siblings :)

I'm so jealous! That would be one that I'd love to see! Have a wonderful time!!

I haven't been to a concert in years. The last one was to see The Infamous Stringdusters, a bluegrass band, and I couldn't tell you how long ago that was. 5, 6 years? I'm to the point that the tickets are so hard to purchase, and they cost so much, that I'd rather purchase the album than bother with the concert. Besides, I can't handle loud noises anymore since I have hearing damage. I'd have to wear earplugs, and how much fun would that be?

Post Modern Jukebox
OH! I didn't know they have a tour! I'll have to check that out for DH!

Not a huge concert goer here. We used to go listen to live music in high school a fair amount, but I've only been to one big stadium concert with my sister - Backstreet Boys. My parents didn't want to go, so they bought me a ticket, and made me go. DH and I saw They Might Be Giants in Boston - it was a smaller venue, and nice. But that's it.

I looooooooooooooooooooove concerts. They are in my top five fave things ever to do.

I try to go to one a year (usually in the summer) but would love to do more than that. A few weeks ago, I went to a Ludacris concert. Last summer I went to Rascal Flatts. Yes, I have eclectic tastes. :)

I think this is me too. I've only ever been to big arena concerts, had a good time, but I come home feeling a bit overwhelmed too.

I am usually a "no" to concerts because they have become so expensive, but this Summer we went to see a few and enjoyed them so much. We also have tix to go see Lady Gaga.

I saw him in September for my birthday last year! Wow...it was amazing. I was on a Garth Brooks high for weeks!

I would go to both of those!! I'm a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll, and a little bit gangsta rap. haha!

I love me a good concert. I've been to a decent amount. I wish they weren't so expensive but sometimes you just have to splurge.

We're going to see U2 (with Beck) next month! So excited!

Mostly, these days, I go to concerts my daughter wants to see, like Ed Sheeran (who I also loved), Sam Smith and Selena Gomez. The last one before that was one for me -- Pearl Jam.

I used to go to a lot when I was 'between husbands'. I had girlfriends who really educated me in the US music scene and we went often. My first, I think, concert was in college at the UMD - Ella Fitzgerald. My then boyfriend/husband to be and I used to go a bunch at college and in DC at various clubs for jazz and folk music. We went to some in England but it was the standard problem...two young boys and less energy esp with a husband on rotating shift work. After England, we never went to anything because there wasn't anything in the countries we lived.

I finally saw Pink Floyd, Cher, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton (a couple times) - Metallica and Bon Jovi with my children - after my divorce and had tickets to U2 but gave them to the hs boy next door who got my Porsche out of a snowbank during a blizzard. I've yet to see U2 but my car survived! My current husband is an opera fan. nuff said.

LOVE THEM! Last year DH and I saw Duran Duran, Tesla, Reo Speedwagon (though I'm not a fan) and Def Leppard. I've actually seen Duran and Lep a few times each over the years. Total, I've probably been to 50+ shows. I had a bit of a dry spell during the early 2000s.

Shows are always lots of fun, and nothing beats a great concert T-shirt (if you can swallow the price tag...lol). It's always great to GO, GO, GO! :agree

Would love to have seen Ludacris. Did he sing Ludachristmas? I've always wondered if that was a show song for him.
