**CLOSED**Favorite Birthday Memory**WINNER announced**

I have had a bunch of nice birthdays, but the most memorable was probably my 21st when I planned my own party and did not know that my mom was also planning a surprise party. She let me invite people, clean the house, and even bought me a (extra) cake and food for this party - but had all my friends call and cancel. Then, told me "oh, my friends want us to stop by Torii's (her fav Karaoke bar) so that they can say HB to you" and everyone was there! She even made me get up and sing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" ala Marilyn Monoroe to my boyfriend.

WOW that is a great story!

My father used to have a large apple orchard when I was little . And my birthday is always during the apple harvest. when I had my eighth birthday, an apple picker gave me the biggest apple from the orchard. And I remember that the apple was that big that ít was to much to eat. I only ate a quater of it.

I have 2 that come to mind. I am not even sure what birthday this one was but my day is July 23 and I had a party at the house with a couple friends and family. I had a Strawberry Shortcake ice cream cake that I was SUPER excited about. When my Mom brought it out she dropped it upside down. But all was OK because it was still frozen. HA HA!

The other was recent - my 40th. All I wanted to do was go sky diving. I have been wanting to since college and due to weather didn't get to. My husband was NOT thrilled to say the least. But he surprised me and I got to go. I LOVED LOVED LOVED it! And even more so to know how hard it was for him to give me that gift.

When I turned 50, my parents had called and we planned a breakfast together at a restaurant.
This was no biggy, since we do this on a regular basis. When we got there we headed for a different
part of the building than we usually sit at. to my surprise was all of our friends, children and grand kids.

I had no idea of any of this. They had even each called me in the morning and wished me happy birthday.
It was a perfect day.

When I turned 16 my mom made me an awesome car cake.

Hubby & I are 13 days apart, the date in the middle is Cinco de Mayo. For our 30th, we had a huge blowout in the city park. Amazing drinks, carnitas, pollo asado, best tacos ever. There was a pinata & the most wonderful chocolate cake with raspberry filling.

The thing is I had just lost about 80lbs. I wore a beautiful yellow dress with matching heels. I felt so good about myself. I was floating between my guests. I felt beautiful and so loved.

I had no idea at the time that it would be my last birthday without kids. By my 31st birthday I'd given birth to my 1st beautiful baby boy.

I've had some good birthdays myself, but my favorite memories are about my children. When my oldest son turned three, we were living in China, just north of Hong Kong. We took the ferry over for a weekend and visited Hong Kong Disneyland over the course of two days. It was a blast! It's smaller than the U.S. Disneyland, but it was the perfect size for my son at the time -- tons of fun but not overwhelming. Also, this was in the middle of Chinese New Year, so they were holding dragon dance parades, which we got to watch. It was our first (and, thus far, only) trip to Disneyland as a family. It's one of the things I miss most about living there.

My favorite birthday had to be this past birthday. It was wonderful to get to celebrate it with my son (since he was just a few months old he was like an EARLY birthday present, especially after we thought we might not be able to have kids!) I got to spend time with my family (mom, brother, etc) and also just some nice time with my hubby and son. He went all out and made it special...had my son do painted hand and foot prints, we watched one of my favorite movies and he got me a beautiful figure for my collection from one of my all time favorite movies...toy story :)

I've had a few birthdays....but 2013 was totally the best..........my present was a whisper in my ear from my daughter " mom, I'm having a baby"........the best present ever!

Birthdays at the office usually involved everyone going out for a birthday lunch. My favourite place (that was close enough to the office) was this amazing vegetarian Indian restaurant. They had about 20 different vegetarian dishes for lunch, and it was as close to heavenly eating as you could get!

I love this for you! What a wonderful memory.

For my 23rd birthday, I got a card, a leash and a collar. 2 months later, we went and picked out our first dog, our golden retriever Kate :)

My 27th birthday...it was the last day of finals for my Physiotherapy program...I finished that final, then celebrated with my classmates at the local pub. It was an amazing day...finally being done a gruelling 2 1/2 year program and having my best friends there to celebrate with.

My favorite birthday memory comes from the last few years. Each year, I spend the day with all of my girls and we go shopping and out to eat, and sometimes the movie. Spending time like that with them on my birthday is the best.
