Wow! TLP is turning 8 and we plan to celebrate all weekend.:woot Let's get this party started by sharing some of our own birthday memories.

Post a favorite birthday memory in this thread and when the party's over one lucky (random) winner will win a $5 gift card to the store. You have until Monday, January 19th at 11:59 PM EST.

One from me:
I had a small group of friends who used to celebrate birthdays together. We would meet for breakfast or lunch and would chip in to treat the birthday girl. There were only 5 of us so it was fun to rotate and catch up on each other's lives. A couple of years ago, when I turned (ahem) 40, we agreed to meet at a favorite restaurant for brunch. I walked in expecting to meet 4 girls so imagine my shock when about 20 of my friends were present to celebrate my milestone birthday. I was completely surprised and so touched. Definitely one to remember!

I remember turning 9 and going to the beach. It was a really big deal because we were in Africa at the time and it was quite the undertaking to get there. It was only 35 miles from the village we were in but took over 2 hours because of the roads. We left early and stayed allllll day. I remember that I got so sunburned I hurt for a week but I didn't care.

MY 40th & my 50th, but my very very best memory of birthdays is of Sarita's 4th, we were living in Brazil and had 150 guests, put together a party that started at 4pm and finished at 3 am, I think I l scrap about and come show :)
(need to sleep now is 3 am LOL)

My 7th birthday my Aunt Dawn made me a Barbie dress cake that was put on my Barbie

for the birthday of my 17 years I have invited the whole class and we have filled a bus to get home :)

For my 50th my girls planned a surprise party with friends and family including some I hadn't seen in many years. They made me a scrapbook and everyone brought food and drinks. I never suspected.

When I was turning 11, my parents told me I was too old for birthday parties. I was terribly upset about it and argued with them for days and days. They wouldn't budge. I was TOTALLY CLUELESS when I walked into my surprise party!

For my 34th... because the year of the age of reason was over! and I celebrated it with friends !!!

My 30th.. went to meet my honey in TX and at the restaurant there was a beautiful cake, balloons and when I got back to his house, he proposed :)

hmmm, birthdays don't work out for me so much. My sister and I had birthdays a week apart and we always had to have our parties together so, yea. Most memorable would be my 16th i guess because I worked at a camp that summer and my fellow staffers threw a surprise party for me and I realized it was the first one I had ever had WITHOUT my annoying little sister. That and we all had a swing dance party.

My favorite birthday was the year DH got me a full frame camera, totally unexpected!! It's all about the presents, isn't it? ;)

this made me just burst into tears of happy, I so love your love!

Mine is when I turned 30. DH decided to throw me a surprise party. It was at a friends house, and a great BBQ. I had a great time, and enjoyed having all of my friends together. I was shocked and completely surprised!

I'm secretly hoping he does this for my 50th in 10 years, lol! Times, locations and friends change, but it would be cool to gather those from past and present again!

aww, I had one of those at about the same age. The crossing guard at my elementary school made them. thanks for the reminder. :)

I love reading these. You girls have had some pretty great birthdays - the beetles, surprise parties, a proposal - so fun!

in 2013, when DH surprised me with an early birthday present, a new 27" i Mac (although it's not behaving lately) ... so yes cristina, it is all about the presents!!!!

My favorite birthday as kid was when I turned ten and my dad got me a HORSE. Every little girl's dream, right?!

My favorite grown-up birthday was my 30th. My sweet hubby planned an awesome + romantic trip so that we could spend my big 3-0 in Paris.
