Catching Up | Pad Patter 1.25

We ended up with the standard storm here on Australia day, there's a reason they have taken the Australian of the year awards indoors... we have just had a lovely downpour of rain, half filled our empty tanks!

Cleaning, applying for jobs, going out into the real world, eating proper meals - about the only things that have stayed constant are my twice weekly iron injections and MOC. Though hoping to get some respite from these injections for a week once I have seen my dr - I'm still sore from the injection a week ago Friday and I've had two more since!

LOL! yay for the aussies!!!

:) @Chippi I am still in NSW and the heat is killing me!! while hubby, down in Tas tells me he has had to put on a long sleeved shirt some nights!!!! :ignore My Australia Day was spent helping my son pack up THIS house as he is moving in with his girlfriend of two years......... I only just got settled here!! :giggle oh well, at least I get a granny flat this time!!! :giggle

Well, instead of doing MOC as I should be, I've been reading. Last night I finished book 12 for this year already.
Also, I'm doing a "decluttering challenge" in January through a class/group thing, so I am a little behind on this week's challenges for that. (I am working to consolidate/simplify/declutter my home office because it is being transitioned to a bedroom for my daughter.... we are finally splitting my kids up to separate rooms for their birthdays in April.)

So today, I hope to catch up on MOC. :giggle

Funnily enough, Australia Day was a sort-of-holiday for me too, as I usually get up before 6am to work on a newsletter for Australian business (if they employed someone in Australia they would have to find someone willing to get up before 4am, and that's a bit harder!) So no newsletter on Friday :dancebun (Although, funnily enough, I got a panicked email from the owner of the business at 10am saying 'has everyone slept in, there's no newsletter gone out!!' because he was travelling overseas and completely forgot it was a public holiday in Australia!)

Otherwise, besides the MOC layouts I have been busy working on my BYOC designs :circles. Can you believe it is nearly February?

It has been so hot here, you cannot buy a fan for love nor money anywhere in Wellington. We have never needed air con in homes here but everyone is having trouble sleeping. We have been swimming nearly every day in the late afternoon. DD has discovered a love of body boardiing and is getting pretty good.

She is hosting her second-ever sleepover tonight, having a longtime friend from school plus a German exchange student they have got to know over to stay. First they are going on a night visit to a nature reserve to try to spot kiwis in the dark (that's kiwis the BIRD as in my logo, not wandering Kiwi fruit!). :agree

DH and I feel we are a bit too old for all this (we live in a small cottage so can't really escape LOL) but like all parents of unusual kids, if they want to socialise we do all we can to make it happen

duh! I just realised it's YOU Em............. lol!! the username just didn't click but I 'knew' your face!! bwhahaaaaaa!!!! :lmao
OMG Ona @wombat146 how could I forget you, please forgive me! Yes it looks like there are a few of us AUSSIES/KIWIS yay thats awesome news. Hi ladies nice to meet you all and love your idea @Chippi about the Aussie Roll Call thats a great idea!

I am too embarrassed to say what I'm behind on so that I could get my MoC's done... really, you don't want to know... Plus I have killer cramps too, which means I've been stuck at the desk. On the other hand, I've managed to completely catch up on MoC AND caught up a little in the gallery for comments too! :D Don't worry, I still have kids, I can hear them mumbling under piles of stuff everywhere. I just keep throwing chips at any piles that move and hope that they at least eat a little.

No I am still living with my son and hubby is down in Tas and has been down there since early Sept. I am hoping to be down there in March/April but our plans change daily as he is building a small flat for us to live in while he builds the actual house. :)
There are a LOT more council regulations down south in regards to development/planning as he is finding out! :(

@wombat146 Aww. :( I knew it was around then that you did the awesome Tas layout, I was hoping things went well for you and you were there. Sending you good luck vibes!!!!
